The Catalog Matching Associate plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of music catalog data. This includes reviewing and validating recommended sound recording-to-composition (R2C) matches, as well as conducting detailed ownership research to support correct attribution.
In addition, the role contributes to the continuous improvement of matching algorithms by performing research, identifying discrepancies, and actively participating in quality assurance initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Review monthly masterlist files via the Matching application to validate recommended sound recording-to-composition (R2C) matches, ensuring accurate identification of correct and incorrect auto-matches.
- Conduct detailed research to verify songwriters and ownership percentages, ensuring accurate rights attribution.
- Support Product team initiatives by participating in ad hoc research and quality assurance (QA) projects aimed at improving enrichment and matching algorithms.
- Analyze incorrect matches to identify patterns, enhance accuracy, and prevent recurring errors.
- Identify, evaluate, and document the most effective asset verification resources, and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Document and escalate product-related issues that impact performance to the Team Lead in a timely manner.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Rights Management leadership.
