ABOUT UNRIVALED

Unrivaled is a premier professional women’s 3v3 basketball league showcasing the top players in the sport. Our mission is to elevate the profile of women’s basketball through exceptional talent, groundbreaking partnerships, and unparalleled fan experiences.

Unrivaled Basketball is the most exciting new property in professional sports — and we're looking for the Creative Producer who will define how the world experiences it through original longform content. This role exists because great ideas don't produce themselves. You are the person who takes a concept from a conversation and turns it into something that stops a viewer cold — a series, a story, a moment that lives beyond the game.

You will be the creative and operational engine behind The Show and every original longform concept that follows it. You think in narratives. You execute in systems. You don't wait to be told what to make — you already know.

The Show currently runs a 5.23% click-through rate (industry: 3–4%), a 1.03% views-to-subscriber conversion rate (industry: 0.3–0.8%), and a 54.1% average viewed rate (industry: 35–45%).  Every one of these numbers exceeds industry benchmark.  They are not aspirational targets — they are the standard.  Your job is to protect and surpass them.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Original Longform Creative Development

Own the entire creative lifecycle for original longform content — from initial concept through treatment, production, and final delivery. You bring ideas to life, not just execute other people's visions. Develop series concepts, pitch formats, narrative frameworks, and episode structures from scratch. Identify stories within the Unrivaled universe that have the depth, tension, and character to sustain an audience across multiple episodes. No idea is too big or too small.

Story Development & Narrative Architecture

Build the story architecture for every project you own. Write treatments, episode outlines, and series bibles that translate creative vision into an executable production plan. Conduct pre-interviews and research to identify the emotional threads, conflicts, and character moments that make non-scripted content feel inevitable. Know where the story is before the camera rolls — and know how to find it when it isn't where you expected.

Framework

You understand every Unrivaled phase has distinct storytelling goals — build hype, own game day, convert casual viewers into invested fans. You understand the difference between these phases and why each one matters. You don't just execute within the framework — you make it better every time it runs.

Post-Production Creative Oversight

Lead the edit with a director's eye and an editor's instinct. Oversee or execute the full post-production process — offline and online edit, color grade, sound design, music supervision, motion graphics, and final delivery. Ensure the pacing, tone, and structure of every edit serves the story first. Step into the edit suite on any project that requires it. Act as the final creative gatekeeper before anything goes out under the Unrivaled name.

Production Systems & Capture-to-Post Pipeline

Design and own the end-to-end production workflow that enables rapid turnaround at live-event speed without sacrificing the quality of a premium original series. Oversee procurement and deployment of the full production kit — FX3, cinema lenses, Atomos Shinobi 2, wireless audio systems, and tripod rigs. Build the systems that make fast turnarounds possible and great work repeatable.

Creative Team Building & Leadership

Build, lead, and mentor the production unit — Dedicated Shooter, Assistant Editor / Media Manager, and Thumbnail Designer. Set the creative standard. Assign projects with intention and ensure every team member understands not just what they're making but why it matters. Manage contractors and freelancers to the same standard as staff.

Cross-Platform Distribution Architecture

Produce content built for distribution from the moment of capture. Understand the structural and editorial differences between a YouTube longform episode, a TikTok hook, an Instagram Reel, and a Snapchat story — and build shoots and cuts with all of them in mind. Work closely with the Social Media Director, Creative Director, and Platform Strategist to ensure every longform piece generates a full content ecosystem across platforms.

Partnership & Brand Integration Creative

Develop and execute brand integration concepts that feel native to the show's creative identity across all four formats — Embedded mid-confessional reads, Presenting Partner placement, Sponsored Chair, and Unrivaled Commercial athlete-led skits. Bring the same creative rigor to brand work as to editorial content. Integrations that feel like interruptions are not accepted.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • You have created and shipped a serialized longform series — not just standalone videos. You have a body of work that proves it.
  • You have a proven history of building series from start to finish with above-industry audience retention rates — you don't just attract viewers, you hold them.
  • You bring original creative concepts to life from scratch. You don't need a brief to start — you need a greenlight.
  • You've understood and mastered audience retention. You know what makes people stay and you build every creative decision around it.
  • You've built a production workflow from the ground up in an environment where the infrastructure didn't exist when you arrived.
  • You can write a treatment, direct a shoot, oversee a cut, and deliver the final file — all in the same week.
  • You can explain the founding history of Unrivaled on Day 1 — why it exists, who built it, and what it means for women's basketball.
  • No idea is too big or too small. You are expected to pitch, develop, and execute original concepts — not just produce what's handed to you.
  • You've run a full production crew on a multi-episode series and know what it takes to keep quality consistent across an entire season.
  • You can sit in a pre-interview, recognize the real story mid-conversation, and redirect without breaking the subject's momentum.
  • You understand story structure the way an editor understands a timeline — instinctively, with clear logic behind every decision.
  • Ambiguity doesn't slow you down. You make a decision, document it, and move.
  • You think about thumbnails, titles, and hooks as part of the creative concept — not afterthoughts.
  • You've worked alongside athletes and public figures and know how to get the best out of them on camera.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and DaVinci Resolve. Experienced with cinema camera systems and professional audio workflows. Proficient in collaborative media management using Frame.io, LucidLink, or equivalent DAM platforms, and YouTube Studio Analytics.
