Valarian: Innovating for the new era of digital sovereignty

Valarian Technologies is a dual-use technology company building critical tools to safeguard the future in an era of evolving global security challenges. We're rethinking security beyond traditional military domains, addressing asymmetric threats that impact our technological advantage, economic strength, and democratic institutions.

We build Acra – the platform foundation for everything we do as a dual-use technology company. The platform’s name, rooted in the Greek word for citadel (or, fortress), reflects the design and purpose of our infrastructure-agnostic secure enclaves: protecting critical data. Some of the government and commercial workflows include: increased operational resiliency for mission-critical systems and functions; enabling organizations to more quickly and widely adopt emerging technologies while ensuring the integrity of their intellectual property; information flow during disaster response scenarios, and zero-trust / least-privilege environments for M&A, attorney-client privileged communications, etc. And we’ve only scratched the surface.

At our core, we're driven by a shared mission and a belief in making a tangible impact on our world. Whether you join our London HQ or the wider global organisation, you’ll be a part of collaborative, high-performing teams, creating cutting-edge software, platforms, and infrastructure.

The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and versatile Executive Business Partner to join our growing team. This role sits at the intersection of Executive Assistant, Chief of Staff and Operations, serving as a trusted partner to our CEO and leadership team.

You will be responsible for maximising executive effectiveness by managing priorities, coordinating strategic initiatives, improving operational cadence, and ensuring critical projects move forward. You'll combine exceptional organisational skills with strong business judgement, helping the leadership team to stay focused on the highest impact opportunities while maintaining operational excellence across the company.

This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys switching between strategic thinking and hands on execution, and who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

What you’ll do:

Executive Partnership

  • Manage the CEO's calendar, priorities, travel and communications to maximise effectiveness and focus.
  • Act as a trusted thought partner and sounding board, helping identify priorities, risks and opportunities.
  • Prepare briefing materials, research, presentations and decision support documents ahead of key meetings.
  • Ensure leadership team actions and commitments are tracked through to completion.

Strategic Projects & Chief of Staff Support

  • Drive cross-functional initiatives on behalf of the CEO and executive team.
  • Coordinate strategic projects, ensuring alignment, accountability and timely execution.
  • Conduct research and analysis on market opportunities, partnerships, customers and competitors.
  • Support company planning processes, including quarterly objectives, leadership reviews and business reporting.
  • Assist with fundraising, investor updates, board materials and executive communications as required.

Operational Excellence

  • Establish and improve operating rhythms, meeting cadences and internal processes.
  • Own action tracking and follow up across leadership meetings.
  • Build systems, documentation and workflows that improve organisational effectiveness.
  • Help identify bottlenecks and operational inefficiencies and drive improvements.

Communication & Coordination

  • Serve as a key liaison between executives, employees, customers, investors and external stakeholders.
  • Draft internal communications, presentations and company wide updates.
  • Ensure information flows effectively across teams and departments.

Administrative Support

  • Coordinate domestic and international travel, accommodation and itineraries.
  • Manage meeting logistics, agendas, notes and follow up actions.
  • Handle confidential information with the highest levels of professionalism and discretion.
  • Provide ad hoc support for special projects, events and executive initiatives.

What you’ll bring:

  • 4+ years of experience in an Executive Assistant, Chief of Staff or Founder's Associate role, ideally in a start up environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex priorities and operate independently..
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent project management and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Strong business judgement and problem solving ability.
  • High levels of discretion, integrity and emotional intelligence.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and shifting priorities.
  • Experience with Google Workspace, Slack and modern productivity rools.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands on execution.
  • Experience supporting founders, executives or leadership teams in a high growth company is highly desirable.
