Millions of companies - from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups - use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

The Talent Mobility team powers Stripe’s global agility by making talent movement effortless, compliant, and business-aligned. We partner with individual Stripes and stakeholders to navigate travel, temporary assignments, permanent relocations, immigration, and internal career moves. By designing and managing global mobility, immigration, and internal mobility programs, we help Stripe move talent seamlessly across borders, roles, and teams - unlocking opportunities for growth, enabling the business to deploy talent globally, and unleashing Stripe’s global potential.

What you’ll do

A high-performing Talent Mobility and Immigration program is critical to Stripe's growth and ability to hire and retain talent worldwide. We are seeking someone passionate about both U.S. and global immigration who can strategically manage supplier relationships, deliver exceptional employee experiences, and scale programs in a fast-paced environment. You'll bring deep expertise in U.S. immigration (visa sponsorship, green card processes, compliance, audits) as well as global immigration (work permits, business visas, in-country compliance, and cross-border transfers). You will also leverage AI, automation, and advanced analytics to innovate, optimize processes, and enhance the overall employee experience. This is a unique opportunity to play a meaningful role in Stripe's Talent Mobility and Immigration programs at a high-growth, global company.

In this hands-on role, you'll be a key member of the Talent Mobility team, partnering with Recruiting, Legal, People Operations, Compensation, Payroll, and especially our external suppliers (immigration counsel). You'll oversee U.S. and global immigration programs end-to-end, manage escalations, ensure compliance, and drive vendor accountability and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day and strategic management of immigration counsel and talent mobility vendors, including SLAs, performance reviews, accountability, escalation handling, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage end-to-end U.S. immigration operations, including visa sponsorship (H-1B, O-1, L-1, TN, F-1/OPT/STEM OPT), green card/PERM process, work authorization maintenance, and compliance.
  • Partner with external counsel and internal stakeholders to manage global immigration programs, including work permits, business visas, cross-border transfers, and in-country compliance.
  • Provide direction, guidance, and partnership to embedded/on-site immigration vendor resources, ensuring alignment with Stripe priorities, high-quality employee experience, and timely resolution of cases.
  • Collaborate with Recruiting, Legal, and other stakeholders to advise on immigration strategies for hiring, workforce planning, and retention across both U.S. and global markets.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. and global immigration laws, audits, reporting requirements, and vendor-managed case accuracy.
  • Develop scalable immigration and mobility policies, manager/employee guidance, and self-service tools to increase clarity and adoption.
  • Leverage AI, automation, and advanced analytics to:
    • Predict bottlenecks and optimize workflow for immigration and mobility programs
    • Automate repetitive case management tasks and reduce cycle times
    • Enhance employee self-service tools and digital resources for immigration and mobility queries
    • Generate actionable insights from program data to inform strategy and improve decision-making
  • Review and resolve exceptions across immigration and mobility cases, coordinating with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor vendor reporting and internal data for accuracy, identify trends, and deliver insights to leadership.
  • Stay current on U.S. and global immigration regulatory changes and partner with counsel to advise stakeholders on impact and readiness.
  • Develop and manage the immigration budget, including annual forecasting and monthly budget-to-actual reviews with Finance. Monitor variances, , provide explanations, and implement adjustments as needed to ensure accurate financial management.

  • 10 years of progressive experience in Talent Mobility with deep expertise in both U.S. and global immigration.
  • Demonstrated experience managing supplier and vendor relationships, including supporting RFP processes and contract discussions, supplier onboarding, performance management against SLAs/KPIs, issue resolution, feedback delivery, and oversight of onsite vendor resources, with a focus on risk management, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Advanced knowledge of the U.S. immigration lifecycle, including non-immigrant visas (H-1B, O-1, L-1, TN), employment-based green cards (PERM, I-140, Adjustment of Status), and compliance obligations.
