Welcome! Super excited you dropped by 🥳
Let's redefine cyber security expertise standards and connect business - community through highly engaging hacking experiences. (Find out more insights about Hack The Box culture in our career site).

✨The core mission of the Lead Defensive Content Engineer:

The Lead Defensive Content Engineer is a pivotal, hands-on technical leadership role. You will be at the forefront of a small, talented team of content engineers, personally driving the creation of cutting-edge cyber ranges. This mission is critical: to design, build, and rigorously test engaging, complex live-fire and hunting labs that directly upskill the defensive capabilities of our business customers. Beyond your significant technical contribution, you will inspire your team, providing essential support to deliver the roadmap, while fostering their daily needs and accelerating their personal growth through dedicated 1-to-1s, coaching, and mentoring.

🏢 Location & Work Mode:

  • Options: Europe, US (preferably East Coast)
  • Fully Remote / Hybrid
  • Greek Candidates:  Those based within 55 km of our (unbelievably awesome) Athens office will follow a hybrid work model of 2 days office/3 remote. For candidates located beyond that radius, a fully remote arrangement is available.

🍺 The fellowship you’ll be joining:

HTB’s defensive team is a relatively new team, established three years ago, and focusing on creating Sherlocks, Forensic CTF Challenges and Cyber Ranges. The team is part of the wider content engineering team, 30 + individuals, working across the globe. To deliver their exciting content, the content engineering team works closely interdepartmentally, as well as across departments (Infrastructure, Marketing, Software Engineering, and Product Management).

📚 Interesting resources you should definitely check:

Read about Threat Range, one of the main types of content your team will be creating.

Learn all about Sherlocks, one of the main types of content produced by the wider Defensive Team.

Please, keep in mind that for this kind of position, we usually give some priority to individuals who have submitted content in the past or can showcase some related work they've engineered. So, if you have engineered offensive or defensive content for CTFs or other learning environments, make sure to share with us some details, including writeups, along with your application.
