Freddie’s Flowers was founded by Freddie Garland in October 2014 with one ambition: to change people’s relationship with flowers. We believe flowers aren’t only for grand occasions, but they make every day special, inspiring creativity and sparking joy.
Our starting point was our direct-to-consumer subscription model, helping us grow a loyal UK following. We launched in Germany in 2020, and then in 2021 we secured significant backing from The Craftory, a like-minded purpose-led global investment house, helping us expand, develop and grow. 2023 saw us start our gifting service – bringing the best of Freddie’s Flowers to everyone who needs it (even last minute!).
From the seed of an idea we continue to flourish; we’re now a B Corp organisation. And our founding mission remains unchanged – to change the world of flowers, and to change the world with flowers.
About the Role:
Contract Type: Fixed-term (Maternity Cover)
Duration: 13 months, August 2026 start
We are looking for an experienced Creative Director to lead and maintain the creative output of the brand for a 13 month period. This is not a role focused on redefining the brand direction, but on confidently steering and executing an already established vision.
Following a recent brand refresh, the focus is on consistency, high-quality execution, and ensuring all creative work lands effectively across channels. You will act as a steady, experienced hand, keeping the creative engine running smoothly while upholding the creative guidelines of the brand.
The role would suit someone from an in-house background used to managing the weekly and monthly creative asset production as well as some campaign creative around our peak trading periods- Christmas, Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day.
Responsibilities:
Creative Direction & Brand Stewardship
- Maintain and uphold Freddie’s Flowers’ visual identity and creative direction
- Ensure consistency and excellence across all brand touchpoints
- Act as creative guardian of the brand, ensuring all outputs align with established guidelines
Team Leadership
- Lead a creative team spanning design, art direction, photography, video, content and production
- Provide clear direction, feedback, and support to ensure high-quality output
- Manage team workflow, prioritisation and delivery
Executional Excellence
- Oversee the delivery of campaigns and day-to-day creative across digital, print, social and email
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, on brief and to a high standard
- Take a hands-on approach where needed to guide and refine creative work
- Help lead on AI integration and toolkits to ensure the team are staying abreast of industry trends and updates
Campaign Delivery
- Work alongside Brand Director to concept seasonal campaign plans
- Lead the rollout of seasonal campaigns and ongoing brand and marketing projects
- Collaborate closely with brand and growth teams to ensure creative supports performance goals
- Optimise and iterate based on results without shifting core brand direction
- Manage creative budget ensuring campaigns and seasonal creative are delivered within budget
