We are looking for a Mechanical Technician responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and overhaul of mechanical systems in use, such as downhole tools, pumps, generators, engines and turbines. He/she will also participate in the design and development of machinery, mechanical components and tools.
In this capacity you will:
- Mechanical technicians carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair work on a wide range of equipment, such as pumps, engines and turbines.
- The key responsibilities are to:
- dentifying and preventing potential hazards and reporting information to the appropriate personnel.
- Using and maintaining the required safety equipment (PPE).
- Working safely and helping other workers do their job safely.
- Participating in regular on-site and off-site safety meetings and training sessions.
- Participating in on-site emergency response drills.
- Analyzing test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives and modifying or adjusting equipment to meet specifications.
- Consulting with supervisors or engineers to plan the layout of equipment or to resolve problems in system operation or maintenance.
- Setting up and testing equipment to ensure that it functions properly.
- Operating drill press, grinders, engine lathe or other machines to modify parts or to fabricate experimental parts for testing.
