This is an exciting opportunity to teach in a well-resourced department within a large, successful secondary school with a thriving sixth form. Whether you are an Early Career Teacher or an experienced practitioner, we are looking for someone with the passion and subject expertise to inspire a love of science in our students.

At Bitterne Park School, we are committed to delivering high-quality teaching and learning, underpinned by strong relationships and a culture of high expectations. You will play a key role in ensuring students achieve excellent outcomes and develop a genuine curiosity about the world around them.

The role will involve:

  • Planning and delivering engaging, high-quality Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and Key Stage 5, where appropriate)
  • Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners
  • Assessing, monitoring and tracking student progress, using this to inform teaching and interventions
  • Contributing to the ongoing development of the Science curriculum and department
  • Supporting the wider life of the school, including enrichment opportunities and extracurricular activities

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a passionate and knowledgeable Science teacher (Biology, Chemistry or Physics specialism welcomed)
  • Has high expectations of themselves and their students
  • Is committed to inclusive practice and ensuring all students can succeed
  • Works collaboratively and contributes positively to a strong team culture
  • Is reflective and driven to continually improve their practice

In return, we offer:

  • A supportive and collaborative Science department with a strong track record of success
  • Excellent professional development opportunities, including for ECTs and aspiring leaders
  • A positive and ambitious school culture where staff wellbeing is valued
  • The opportunity to work with motivated students in a thriving school community

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a school that is committed to excellence, innovation and the development of both its students and staff.
