Let’s fix hospitality, for good.

Hospitality is tough – margins are thin, waste is high, and teams are stretched. But it doesn’t have to be this hard. That’s why we built Nory.

Our CEO, Conor, knows the pain first-hand. After founding and scaling Mad Egg in Ireland, he got fed up with juggling “market-leading” systems, clunky spreadsheets, and endless printouts. So he set out to build the tool he wished he’d had from day one.

Nory is an all-knowing restaurant management system. It blends real-time data with AI predictive analytics, giving operators control of their margins. From food prep to forecasting, it’s operational intelligence that helps restaurants run with consistency, certainty, and profit. The result? Thriving restaurants, better jobs, less waste, healthier margins. Learn more about what we are building here.

And we’re just getting started. Fresh off a Series B led by Kinnevik, we’ve grown to 80+ people across Ireland, the UK, Spain and recently, New York – and demand is scaling faster than we ever imagined.

The role

We're looking for a Senior Product Engineer to join our growing Plug & Play team. In this role, you'll build and shape the foundations of Nory's integration platform - owning complex problems end-to-end and helping define how our systems, processes, and engineering culture evolve as we scale.

This is backend-first integration work. You'll design robust APIs, build reliable data pipelines, and connect Nory to the ecosystem of POS, payroll, HR, and accounting systems that our restaurant customers depend on. You'll also contribute across the frontend when needed, but your foundation is in backend systems and integration architecture.

This is a product engineering role, not a software engineering role. That distinction matters. You'll be expected to shape what gets built — not just how — navigating partner constraints, working directly with customers, and making pragmatic trade-offs to ship things that actually work in production. This role isn't just about greenfield projects. You'll also strengthen and evolve our existing integrations, improve internal tooling and observability, and turn legacy or manual workflows into scalable, reliable systems. Find out more about what it means to be a product engineer at Nory here.

You must have the right to work in the UK or EU without sponsorship to be considered for this role.

What you’ll be doing:

Our teams are cross-functional with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility for their product. You will own complex integration and platform problems from discovery and design through to delivery, iteration and long-term evolution. You will collaborate closely with designers, customer success and other engineers in a tight feedback loop with leadership, production and our customers.

Key projects our team is working on:

  • Expand the range of EDI messages we support to enable deeper, more automated customer workflows

  • Build and scale our integrations marketplace - making it easier for customers to discover, enable, and trust integrations

  • Design and launch Nory's public API - creating a secure, well-documented foundation for external developers and partners

  • Improve our integration infrastructure and processes to make existing integrations more self-serve, scalable and reliable

  • Strengthen internal tooling and observability to make integrations easier to debug, monitor, and evolve over time

What you’ll bring:

  • Backend Depth, Full-Stack Capability: Strong production-level backend skills — comfortable with API design, data modelling, event-driven systems, and integration architecture. You can work across the frontend too, but your foundation is backend-first.

  • Integration & Platform Instincts: You've built and maintained integrations with third-party systems - POS platforms, accounting tools, payroll providers, marketplaces, or similar. You understand the messiness of real-world APIs and know how to build around it reliably.

  • Systems Thinking & Design: You contribute to technical architecture, take a long-term view of platform evolution, and make sound trade-offs between speed, reliability, and maintainability. You've designed systems that handle failure gracefully.

  • Product Ownership from Zero to One: You've built things from scratch in high-stakes environments. You know how to scope an MVP, ship it to real users, get feedback, and iterate - without waiting for perfect requirements.

  • Customer & Commercial Mindset: You seek to understand customer problems, connect your engineering decisions to business outcomes, and proactively improve the user experience. You can talk to customers and partners directly and let that shape what you build.

  • Ownership, Autonomy & Startup Readiness: You act with urgency, thrive in ambiguity, and proactively unblock yourself and others. You're comfortable taking a vague brief and turning it into something real.

  • Collaboration & Communication: You work effectively across functions, communicate with clarity, and support a remote-first, async culture. You write well and document your work in a way that makes the team faster.

  • Learning Mindset: You embrace feedback, pursue growth, and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Bonus points if you have

  • Experience designing and maintaining public APIs — including authentication, versioning, rate limiting, and developer experience

  • Experience with EDI, electronic data interchange, or standards-based integration formats

  • Exposure to POS systems, accounting platforms, payroll providers, or HR systems

  • Experience building integration marketplaces or self-serve integration platforms

  • Prior experience mentoring engineers or raising technical standards across a team

Our stack

  • Python, FastAPI, React, TypeScript, Node.js, AWS (Fargate, Aurora, SQS), Postgres, MongoDB, Docker.

  • We're stack-agnostic in our hiring and care most about strong engineering fundamentals and the ability to ramp quickly.

What you’ll get in return:

🌎 Remote-first working environment - please note you must have the right to work in the UK/EU without sponsorship to be considered for this role

💰 Competitive salary depending on experience

📈 Meaningful equity, at Nory everyone is an owner!

🌴 35 days of paid leave per year (including bank holidays)

🏥 Comprehensive private health insurance via Irish Life (Ireland) and Axa (UK)

🍼 Enhanced parental leave and baby loss support

📚 Learning & development culture – €1000 personal annual budget + quarterly book budget

🖥️ €250 home office workspace budget

🥳 Regular team offsites & socials

🌎 Work from anywhere for up to 3 months of the year

📍Offices in either London 🇬🇧 , Dublin 🇮🇪 or Spain 🇪🇸
