About the role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Life Underwriting Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering comprehensive training programs to enhance the knowledge and skills of our underwriting staff. This role involves creating engaging learning materials, conducting training sessions, and evaluating the effectiveness of training initiatives.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain engaging training materials, including job aids, e-learning modules, workshops, knowledge assessments and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Conduct instructor-led training sessions, workshops, and online training programs for underwriting staff.
  • Evaluate training program efficiency through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics.
  • Provide ongoing support and coaching to underwriting staff to ensure continuous improvement in underwriting practices.
  • Stay current with industry trends, changes in regulations, advancements in underwriting technology, and new learning/development methodologies.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and management to identify training needs and develop targeted training solutions.
  • Support change management initiatives related to underwriting processes, systems, and methodologies.
  • Foster an environment of psychological safety.

Qualifications & skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in life underwriting or training.
  • Proficient knowledge of life underwriting principles, practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Proficiency in creating training materials using various software and tools.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Certifications in training and development are a plus.
