Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:00am–4:30pm (to be worked flexibly)
Role Overview
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Electrical Supervisor leads and supports the Electrical Team to deliver safe, compliant, and efficient electrical and fire safety services across the estate. The role combines hands‑on planned and reactive maintenance with day‑to‑day team supervision. Flexibility is essential, including providing cover when needed and participating in the out‑of‑hours rota.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership
- Lead the Electrical Team through day‑to‑day supervision, line management, and workforce planning including timesheet reviews and authorisation
- Conduct performance reviews, manage personal development plans, and identify training needs
- Involvement in all recruitment activities relating to our electrical team
Operational Delivery
- Deliver planned preventative maintenance, reactive tasks, and emergency response
- Participate in the on‑call rota
- Ensure efficient working practices and high‑quality outcomes across all electrical tasks
Compliance & Safety Management
- Act as Principal Duty Holder for NICEIC and BAFE (QS), ensuring all associated responsibilities are met
- Maintain legal and safety compliance through RAMS reviews, COSHH oversight, and sign‑off of audited compliance paperwork
Quality Assurance & Technical Investigation
- Conduct quality checks on internal and external works
- Lead investigations into complex technical issues across the Sewell estate
- Review electrical tasks, works, and quotations to ensure accuracy and suitability
Stakeholder & Customer Engagement
- Work closely with the Customer Care Team, Facilities Managers, Projects Team, and subject matter experts to ensure customer needs are met
- Coordinate M&E team communication through regular huddles and updates
- Act as a key holder for Sewell properties
Contractor & Supplier Management
- Manage external contractors including performance monitoring and quality assurance
- Review subcontractor quotes, invoices, and documentation
- Negotiate pricing with suppliers to ensure value for money
Commercial & Quotation Responsibilities
- Prepare and review electrical quotations and support the compilation of information proposals
- Provide technical input to commercial decisions and project planning
