Financial Accountant

About the role

Albert Bartlett, a leading name in the potato industry, is seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Financial Accountant to join our finance team.

This role plays a key part in maintaining robust financial controls and supporting accurate, timely financial reporting across the business. You will work closely with the wider finance team, taking ownership of core accounting activities and contributing to month‑end, year‑end and compliance processes.

This is a strong opportunity for a qualified or part‑qualified accountant looking to operate in a fast‑paced FMCG environment, with scope, responsibility and long‑term development potential.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date accounting records in line with company policies and accounting standards
• Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Play an active role in month‑end and year‑end close processes
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances
• Prepare and post journals, including accruals and prepayments
• Assist with VAT returns and other statutory and compliance requirements
• Work collaboratively with the finance team to improve processes and efficiencies
• Provide support during external audits and liaise with auditors where required
