About the role

In this role, you will support the delivery of energy and sustainability services across a portfolio of commercial buildings, primarily offices and retail sites. You will carry out on-site energy surveys, analyse utility consumption data, and produce clear, evidence-based reports identifying opportunities to reduce energy use, costs, and carbon emissions. The position also involves coordinating Automatic Meter Reading installations and working closely with clients, facilities managers, and contractors to improve building performance.

You should be comfortable working both with data and in operational building environments, confident asking questions on site, and able to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy. Your primary focus will be on supporting senior staff in delivering accurate, practical energy assessments that provide clear value to clients. Through high-quality site surveys, robust analysis of energy data, and well-structured reports, you will identify realistic opportunities to improve building performance, reduce costs, and support sustainability goals.

You will work closely with facilities managers, contractors, and internal teams, so strong communication skills, professionalism on site, and the ability to build rapport are essential. A curious, proactive approach and willingness to develop technical knowledge will help you adapt to evolving building technologies and energy standards while contributing effectively to the team.

⎼Conduct on-site energy surveys of commercial buildings,

⎼Inspect building services plant such as HVAC systems, lighting, and controls

⎼Analyse half-hourly electricity consumption data to identify trends, anomalies, and savings opportunities

⎼Prepare clear, evidence-based energy audit reports with practical recommendations

⎼Support the coordination and project management of Automatic Meter Reading installations

⎼Liaise with facilities managers, contractors, and site teams to gather operational information

What we expect of you

We’re looking for someone with strong organisational skills who can work effectively both independently and as part of a team. You should be comfortable managing multiple tasks, prioritising workload, and maintaining accuracy while working to deadlines.

Confidence working in operational building environments and engaging professionally with facilities managers and contractors is important.

You will bring solid analytical ability and proficiency in Excel, along with a basic understanding of building services such as HVAC systems and controls.

An interest in energy efficiency, sustainability, and how commercial buildings operate will be key to your success. Attention to detail, a practical mindset, and a willingness to learn on the job will help you develop quickly in this role.
