The Role

As a Group Financial Planning and Analysis Manager, you’ll lead the budgeting, planning and forecasting for the credit card portfolio, ensuring budgets and plans are produced on time, at the right level of granularity, and with the accuracy needed for submission to the Group Executive Committee and Group Board. You’ll provide clear insight into performance through monthly variance analysis (Actuals vs Budget), scenario modelling to assess risks and opportunities (including ICAAP support), and concise commentary that highlights key drivers, issues and actions. You’ll also play a central part in improving and evolving our Anaplan forecasting tool and budget processes and provide analytical support to new business initiatives by assessing business cases and tracking progress.

You and your Team

You’ll join a collaborative finance team that partners closely with Commercial, Credit Risk, Operations and Group Finance to deliver high-quality plans and insight. Working across the business, you’ll coordinate inputs and sign-off of key assumptions, strengthen forecasting discipline and data quality, and respond to ad hoc requests with analysis that helps teams make informed decisions. This is a highly visible role with regular engagement with senior stakeholders, where strong relationships, clear communication and a continuous-improvement mindset will be key to your success.

As a Group Financial Planning and Analysis Manager, you will:

  • Support the budget and forecast process by forecasting risk-adjusted income for the credit card portfolio and delivering timely, accurate outputs.
  • Partner with Commercial and Credit Risk to ensure budget inputs are on time, accurate and at the right level of granularity, with clear sign-off of key assumptions.
  • Produce insight-led commentary and presentations for the Group Executive Committee and Group Board, explaining performance and key drivers.
  • Build scenarios to assess risks and opportunities, supporting wider processes including ICAAP.
  • Perform monthly variance analysis (Actuals vs Budget), maintain budget actuals data, and respond to ad hoc requests with robust analysis and business insight.
  • Develop, test and document the budget process, driving continuous improvement in forecasting tools and ways of working.
  • Support the preparation of business cases for new initiatives, tracking performance against plan and providing decision-ready insight to stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Qualified ACCA/CIMA or degree in a quantitative or business subject.
  • Strong FP&A experience, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and performance insight.
  • Experience using financial reporting and planning systems, with strong attention to data quality and process control.
  • The ability to present complex analysis clearly to senior stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to investigate and analyse complex data sets, identify issues proactively and implement practical improvements to tools and processes.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, able to build effective relationships across Finance, Commercial and Credit Risk and challenge constructively.
  • Strong organisation skills and ownership mindset, able to meet tight deadlines with rigorous attention to detail.

Desirable:

  • Anaplan and experience improving forecasting models and processes within planning tools.
  • Knowledge of Financial Services, ideally within Banking.
  • Experience supporting business cases and new initiative governance, including tracking delivery against plan.
  • Experience producing scenario analysis to support capital planning and risk processes (e.g., ICAAP).
