Build, test and bring machines to life — in the UK and across the world

We’re looking for an Installation & Commissioning Engineer to join a specialist engineering business, working on bespoke machinery from build through to customer handover. This is a predominantly factory-based role (approx. 75%), with regular opportunities to travel and commission machines on-site.

Factory-Based Responsibilities (Approx. 75%) 

  • Carry out QA checks on sub-assemblies, machines, and production lines 
  • Test and validate machinery against specifications 
  • Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) with customers 
  • Prepare QA and inspection documentation 
  • Decommission machines ready for shipping 
  • Support customer queries and after-sales issues 
  • Deliver machine demonstrations and trials 

Site Responsibilities 

  • Install and commission machinery at customer sites 
  • Set up, align, and integrate machines 
  • Perform on-site fault finding and troubleshooting 
  • Train customers on machine operation 
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards 

Travel Requirements 

Typically one trip per month of either; 

  • 1–2 days (UK/Europe) 
  • 1 week (Europe or further afield) 
  • 2–3 weeks (long haul) 
  • Occasional longer trips (up to 5–6 weeks). All travel and expenses covered.
