 Kepak St. Merryn in Bodmin is a beef processing facility. We offer beef products ranging from retail ready cuts for butchers’ counters to branded packaged meat, all as part of our service; raised on open pastures, sourced from local farmers and hand-selected by our master butchers, we produce beef products with integrity and unmatched quality assurance. 

We are seeking a motivated individual to join the team as a Production Operative and Humper at our Bodmin site.

This is a full time, permanent position working in our Slaughtering Department. Starting at 6.30am and working until production finishes Monday to Friday, with a salary of £12.75 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Scribe and split beef into quarters and rehang hind quarters as directed by their supervisor, to customer specification.
  • Be able to Lift weights and be able to move around the factory floor without assistance for the shift duration
  • Be familiar with the daily production plan and work as part of the team to set up the line, complete checks and ensuring materials are ready to up
  • Perform all prestart, hygiene and safety checks as directed
  • Report all breakages, damages, or defaults of equipment to the Line Supervisor, ensuring all equipment/machinery is only used when it is safe to use. Record checks as and when directed
  • Ensure that the product is of the highest standard and report any issues to the Line supervisor immediately
  • Reporting any accidents or near misses is expected and assistance with any investigation is a prerequisite of the Company’s safety policy
  • Always adhere to Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • Act in a responsible manner following all safety regulations; safe work practices, SOP’s, TBRA’s and never risking one’s own safety.
  • Ensure compliance with PPE policies and procedures
  • Other duties will be part of the role from time to time – this will be specified by your direct line Supervisor.
  • Report any risks or any evidence of unsafe or out of specification product, equipment, packaging or raw materials, to a designated manager to enable the resolution of issues requiring immediate action.
