Worklocation
You will be working for WHS Logistics, our joint venture between Den Hartogh and Wilmar International. While officially employed by Den Hartogh, you will work at Wilmar’s office. What will you be doing?
As a Logistics Coordinator, you are the key link between all involved parties: producers (our customers), operators at production sites, and carrier planners. In addition to daily transport planning and coordination, you actively contribute to Continuous Improvement. You identify incidents and deviations, propose improvements, and provide recommendations for follow-up actions based on KPIs. In short: you ensure a smooth operation while also driving structural optimization!
Your role
You will manage the transport of customer products across Europe while working in-house at an international, fast-growing company specializing in vegetable fats and oils. From a prime location near Rotterdam Central, you will coordinate the transportation of packaged liquids and palletized goods between production sites and end customers. You will collaborate closely with producers, operators, and carriers. Our office is located at Delftseplein, right next to Rotterdam Central Station. This ensures excellent accessibility by public transport.
Your responsibilities
Order Processing: Register orders in the Freight Management System (FMS) and determine the optimal transport solution (IBCs or bagged goods);
Transport Planning: Assign a carrier, coordinate with operators, and inform the customer;
Coordination & Communication: Liaise with carriers, loading locations, and occasionally the end customer;
Problem-Solving: Quickly and efficiently resolve transport-related issues;
Administration: Document details, record additional costs, and prepare orders for invoicing.
The ideal candidate:
MBO/HBO work and thinking level, with at least 1-3 years of work experience in logistics;
You are proactive, a self-starter, accurate, communicative, a team player, and solution-oriented;
Knowledge of FTL/LTL Road transport, if possible, specifically for food and non-food goods;
Strong communication in English, both written and spoken; Dutch preferred; other languages are a plus.
You live in the Rotterdam area (maximum 45 minutes travel time) to ensure quick responsiveness when needed;
Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite
