About the Position

We are looking for an experienced compliance professional to oversee the operation and implementation of our automated trade surveillance program in the U.S.

In this role, you'll oversee the trade surveillance program and manage the team that keeps these workflows running smoothly. You’ll partner closely with seasoned colleagues across Legal and Compliance to shape decisions on the direction and priorities of the group. You'll also be a primary liaison between our team and the rest of the firm, serving as a trusted point of contact for traders, technologists, and other colleagues.

Additional responsibilities of the role may include:

  • Gathering high-level statistics about frequency and quality of trade surveillance alerts, and proposing changes to parameters and/or logic where necessary
  • Reviewing the quality and completeness of alert closure comments written by the trade surveillance team
  • Working with developers to ensure that automated trade surveillances are implemented accurately
  • Ensuring that the suite of automated trade surveillances adheres to internal policies, and identifying opportunities to strengthen our controls and processes
  • Coordinating with peers in foreign offices to ensure consistent application of trade surveillance design decisions and standards
  • Serving as an escalation point for any questions or concerns raised by the team reviewing trade surveillance alerts

About You

  • Have worked 8+ years in a legal and compliance environment with experience in trade surveillance and monitoring
  • Able to work with and analyze data to uncover trends and investigate trading patterns
  • Discreet and trustworthy; able to use sound judgment to make real-time decisions and own the outcomes
  • A clear, concise communicator who can engage credibly with senior colleagues and external partners
  • Comfortable asking questions, surfacing issues early, and owning mistakes
  • Organized with excellent attention to detail, especially when managing work across multiple parallel threads
  • A proactive self-starter who works independently, follows through on tasks, escalates when necessary, and drives projects to completion
