Are you a Technical Solution Designer with deep understanding of clinical data management processes and data? Do you think holistically, act with ambition, and find technical solutions to accelerate clinical trials?

Can you design and implement configurations to SaaS applications to support trials?

If so, now is your chance to join Ascendis Pharma as our new Technical Solution Designer in Global IT.

Ascendis Pharma is a global biopharmaceutical company committed to making a meaningful difference in patients’ lives. Guided by our core values of Patients, Science, and Passion, we are applying our innovative TransCon® technology platform to fulfill our mission of developing new therapies that demonstrate best-in-class potential to address unmet medical needs.

At our headquarters in Hellerup, Denmark, research facilities in Heidelberg, Germany, and additional offices across Europe and the United States, we are advancing programs in our Endocrinology Rare Disease and Oncology portfolios. We also collaborate with partners on the development of TransCon-based products in other therapeutic areas and markets.

The context

This position is based in our Global IT organization. In Global IT, we have spent the past five years building and maturing a product-driven organization. We operate with a strong focus on product management and lifecycle thinking, where teams take full ownership- from problem discovery to solution delivery and continuous improvement - ensuring we address real business needs.

Our structure combines clear leadership intent with empowered teams: each team member is supported by both a People Leader focused on development and a Functional Leader guiding strategy and delivery. We foster autonomy and self-organization to enable fast flow, clear accountability, and minimal dependencies.

Within the Clinical domain, our organization consists of two product teams and a data team, supporting key areas including Clinical Operations, Clinical Development, Biometrics, Clinical Data Management, and Clinical Trial Supply

We are seeking a passionate Technical Solution Designer to join our Clinical domain in Global IT. You will be responsible for designing and implementing technical solutions to clinical data management problems. Practically speaking, you will be the technical expert in how our EDC, eCOA, and Clinical Data Repository (CDR) are configured. When our SaaS solutions fall short, you will find ways to deliver functionality in collaboration with our Automation, Integration, AI and Analytics teams.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with cross-functional, global teams working together to achieve extraordinary results.

You will split your time between the Clinical Data Management team and the Clinical IT team, and report directly to People Leader, Jakob Monajemzadeh Thrane, and Functional Leader, Ivanna Mikhailovna Rosendal, both based in Hellerup. You will also be based on Hellerup.

Your key responsibilities will be to

  • Design and implement technical configuration and solutions to support Clinical Data Management
  • Engage with clinical data management colleagues to understand trials
  • Translate trial criteria to specifications of configuration needed in our SaaS applications
  • Either implement the configurations yourself, or work with the managed services provider or vendor to implement the configuration
  • Provide solutions during trial conduct to adjust needed configuration
  • Be visionary in improving our clinical data management technical capabilities and suggest and implement improvements for automation, integration and seamless data flows
  • Exposure to solution architecture across the Clinical IT domain can be expected.
  • Provide and work with vendor L3 support for our SaaS solutions
  • Assist with documentation and validation of solutions

Qualifications and Skills

You hold a relevant academic degree – preferably a Master’s degree, with a background as an Engineer, Configuration Manager or an equivalent technical role.

You have solid experience with EDC from a pharma context and +5 years of relevant experience across complex organizations.

Furthermore, you have

  • A strong understanding of clinical data management
  • Experience working with SaaS vendors
  • The ability to connect people and create shared understanding and direction
  • Completed Veeva EDC course

Key competencies:

You possess an entrepreneurial mindset and can thrive in an informal, open environment where innovation and change are key.

To succeed in this role, we also expect you to be good at collaborating with business in complex and ambiguous settings, handling conflicts constructively and helping groups move forward.

What we offer
