We’re a group of spirited people who are never afraid to challenge the norm – becoming stronger, more energised, and that much better when we’re together. About you
You’ll be joining the Developer Experience team as an AI Enablement Engineer. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you’ll be part of a fast-growing business that is challenging the market and doing things differently.
You are a strong mid-level engineer who enjoys improving how software is built, not just delivering code in isolation. You are curious about AI, practical in how you apply it, and focused on helping teams use it safely and effectively in real engineering workflows.
You enjoy collaborating with other engineers, understanding how they work, and sharing approaches that improve productivity, quality, and developer experience. You are happy being hands-on, while growing your ability to influence engineering practices more broadly.
You are comfortable working in a regulated environment and understand that enablement must be balanced with appropriate governance and controls.
You will be
· Support the effective and responsible use of AI across ClearBank’s software engineering teams.
· Work day-to-day with engineers to guide how AI can be applied within real delivery workflows.
· Help teams embed AI into the SDLC in ways that improve productivity, quality, and developer experience.
· Contribute to practical guidance, examples, and playbooks that help teams adopt AI with confidence.
· Partner with stakeholders to ensure adoption is evidence-based and aligned to engineering outcomes.
· Operate with a pragmatic mindset that supports progress while meeting regulatory and risk expectations.
What you will be doing
· Use and evaluate AI tooling used in software engineering, including copilots, assistants, and workflow-integrated capabilities.
· Collaborate directly with engineering teams to improve how AI is used in coding, testing, review, debugging, and documentation.
· Share effective patterns, techniques, and examples that engineers can adopt in their day-to-day work.
· Identify friction points and opportunities for improvement in current engineering workflows.
· Support the rollout of new AI tools, techniques, or approaches into the engineering community.
· Contribute to defining and tracking meaningful success measures such as adoption signals, developer experience indicators, and quality outcomes.
· Work with Security, Model Risk, and other partners to ensure tooling and usage align with ClearBank’s governance expectations.
· Occasionally build or extend lightweight tooling, automation, or workflow enhancements needed to support AI adoption.
What we are looking for
· Strong background in software engineering, platform engineering, DevEx, or DevOps.
· Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools in real engineering environments.
· Experience collaborating with delivery teams to improve practices and outcomes.
· Ability to assess tools and approaches based on evidence, practicality, and impact.
· Strong communication skills, able to explain technical concepts clearly to engineers and stakeholders.
· Outcome-driven, curious, and pragmatic in approach.
· Comfortable working across ambiguity and change.
· Collaborative and empathetic, with a genuine interest in enabling others to succeed.
· Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, internal developer platforms, or SDLC tooling is desirable.
· Familiarity with engineering productivity or quality metrics is beneficial.
· Exposure to governance, security, or risk stakeholders in a regulated environment is advantageous.
