Summary: 

Design Engineer with experience in automotive seating structures and strong hands-on expertise in Creo for 3D modeling, packaging layouts, drafting, and assembly design within automotive product development environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply engineering principles to develop layouts for automotive mobility systems and seating structure components.
  • Develop and modify 3D layouts in Creo while ensuring packaging feasibility, manufacturability, and performance targets are achieved.
  • Work extensively on Creo Part Design, Assembly Design, Drafting, and Generative Shape Design workbenches.
  • Support design releases, engineering changes, and drawing updates as per project requirements.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, supplier, and validation teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve design efficiency, optimize part cost, and utilize updated engineering technologies and methodologies.
  • Support issue resolution related to packaging, fitment, and design feasibility during development activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
  • 3 to 7 years of experience in automotive seating structures or automotive BIW/interior mechanical design.
  • Strong hands-on experience in Creo with proficiency in: Part Modeling, Assembly Design, Drafting, Surface/Generative Shape Design.
  • Experience working on automotive product development and component packaging activities.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes, GD&T, engineering drawings, and tolerance stack-up concepts.
  • Experience handling engineering change management and design release activities is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced customer-driven environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
