About the role
This role is a 12-month Fixed-Term Contract for maternity cover.
The Financial Controller will oversee all accounting functions in the business and will strategically develop the accounting team to ensure that all accounting records are appropriately kept and controlled and that every reported result complies with accounting standards and legislation.
As a senior role, the Financial Controller will contribute to the financial strategy of the business and will be pivotal in the development of all internal control policies and procedures in the company.
The Financial Controller will also be working alongside department heads and the Senior Leadership Team as needed to support departmental financial reporting and budgeting, procurement, and revenue invoicing. They will also ensure that all financial systems are fit for purpose, are maintained, and that potential areas for improvement are identified and acted on timely.
You will be responsible for...
- Managing all day-to-day accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, cost accounting and revenue recognition.
- Coordinating the preparation of budget and financial forecasting and reporting and analysing any variances, proposing corrective measures to the business where necessary.
- Preparing and publishing all monthly financial statements.
- Creating reports for Board and Senior Management which identify results, trends and forecasts.
- Ensuring all transactions are recorded and reported in accordance with GAAP.
- Documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain internal controls.
- Support the HR Team with Payroll and Pensions.
- Coordinating the management of cash flow, debt, debt collection and foreign exchange.
- Actively supervising, managing and coaching the financial team.
- Overseeing the audit process and liaising with external personnel where required.
- Supporting the business with the financial strategy and decision-making processes.
