POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced Optical Transceiver Product Engineer to play a critical role in bringing our next generation optical transceiver products from development into high volume manufacturing. In this role, you will own manufacturing readiness and product execution across the product lifecycle, working closely with contract manufacturers, suppliers, and cross functional teams in design, process engineering, quality, and operations. You will help drive the successful launch and scale up of advanced transceiver platforms, with a strong focus on product quality, yield, reliability, and cost. This is a high impact opportunity for someone with deep expertise in the optical transceiver industry, particularly with 800G and 1.6T products, who thrives in a fast moving environment and wants to help shape the future of optical connectivity.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
End-to-end manufacturing ownership: Ensure all the changes to product, processes, materials, etc. are under change control and follow established QMS requirements.
Responsible for product yield, quality and reliability, as the lead contact for delivering products to customers
Responsible for the accuracy of manufacturing BOM and driving product quality, operational productivity, and total cost of manufacturing
Responsible for analyzing, defining, developing, and executing continuous improvement plans to achieve yield, cycle time, throughput, and scrap reduction.
Track manufacturing test results and ensure compliance with specification
Responsible for product documentation and specifications
Collaborate with quality team for planning and execution of qualification testing
Collaborate with design team and process engineering to ensure design for manufacturing (DFM) guidelines are met
Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarising information and trends
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, with 7+ years of experience in high-volume optical transceiver manufacturing.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Direct experience with optical transceiver manufacturing and engineering, including 800G and 1.6T products.
Strong technical depth in manufacturing BOMs, yield analysis, root cause problem solving, and process implementation for optical products.
Experience with transceiver products and optical assembly processes such as wire bond, die bond, active optical alignment, product test, and burn-in is strongly preferred.
Experience in ongoing reliability testing and quality control best practices.
Expertise in data analysis, statistical process control (SPC), and report generation.
In depth understanding of the quality management system and quality standard requirements.
Expertise in optics FA processes and tools.
Ability to work well in a geographically diverse cross-functional team.
Good command in English communication both verbal and written, including in-person and virtual presentation skills.
International travel required.
