Tesco Controls is seeking a Project Engineer II to play a key role in the design and delivery of electrical, control, and communication systems for water and wastewater automation projects. In this position, you will transform customer requirements into precise engineering solutions, produce high-quality technical documentation, guide and mentor design teams, and provide expert support across all stages of the project lifecycle.

What you will do:

  • Design moderately complex electrical, control, and communication systems for automation projects. 
  • Interpret customer specifications and translate them into clear engineering scope and deliverables. 
  • Support all phases of engineering to ensure accurate and timely customer approvals and manufacturing drawings. 
  • Produce detailed engineering documents including single-line/three-line diagrams, panel layouts, and wiring schematics. 
  • Lead and mentor designer teams to convert engineering concepts into complete schematics. 
  • Contribute to engineering schedules and ensure timely release of BOMs, equipment specifications, and customer documentation. 
  • Partner with Project Managers to resolve technical issues with internal teams and external stakeholders. 
  • Provide technical expertise across estimation, sales, manufacturing, testing, installation, commissioning, and operations. 
  • Serve as a technical point of contact, prepare briefings for leadership, and support project issue resolution. 
  • Ensure engineering deliverables comply with TESCO standards, tools, and procedures.

Demonstrated Skills:

  • Strong ability to read, interpret, and design electrical schematics.
  • Understanding of electrical components, equipment, machinery, and manufacturing workflows.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage deadlines.
  • Commitment to ongoing training and continuous professional development.

Education & Knowledge:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering (BSEE); PE license preferred.
  • Solid understanding of electrical engineering principles, methodologies, codes, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, and AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical.

Experience:

  • 5–15 years of electrical and controls design experience.
  • 4–8 years of automation system design and analysis experience.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in regulated industries preferred.
