Qumulo's cloud data platform manages exabytes of the world's most demanding data, unifying files, objects, and every workload across edge, core, and cloud.
About the role:
As Qumulo's Senior Presales Systems Engineer for South Korea, you'll be the technical lead behind our enterprise growth in one of the region's most demanding markets. In this role you will run proof-of-concept deployments end to end, partner with Account Executives to navigate Korean enterprise procurement, and work with local system integrators and cloud providers to build channel pipeline.
Our ideal Systems Engineer combines deep, hands-on technical specialization with executive-level business strategy, with the ability to map Qumulo’s platform to complex business outcomes, while maintaining the technical credibility to go deep into the weeds with enterprise engineers and kernel-level architects.
Responsibilities:
Run proof-of-concept deployments end to end: rack the gear, configure multi-protocol access (NFS, SMB, S3), debug scripts, and performance tune Linux storage stacks in network-separated (망분리) environments
Go deep with customer engineering teams on complex architectures, including multi-protocol configurations, data protection rules, and active-active replication topologies.
Translate complex scale-out storage metrics into high-level business value by partnering with Account Executives to navigate Korean enterprise procurement, calculate TCO, and build business cases for C-level buyers.
Drive technical and commercial alignment with Korean system integrators (Samsung SDS, LG CNS, SK C&C) and domestic cloud providers (Naver Cloud, KT Cloud) to advance channel pipeline.
Surface customers' real pain points through consultative discovery and respectfully question legacy infrastructure assumptions.
Act as the bridge between the Korean market and Qumulo's global engineering team, making sure local compliance needs and feature gaps get heard.
Present technical sessions in Korean to local engineers and enterprise buyers, and collaborate across APAC and HQ in English.
Qualifications:
7+ years in technical pre-sales, systems engineering, or enterprise storage architecture, with a focus on file/object storage or scale-out distributed systems.
Deep knowledge of storage access protocols (NFS v3/v4, SMB, native S3 API integration), enterprise networking (InfiniBand, RoCE, 100GbE+ fabrics), and Linux operating system internals.
Working expertise across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, including certification in one or more.
A track record of running complex software and hardware evaluations independently, including stress testing (FIO, IOR) and live troubleshooting without relying on back-end support teams.
Fluency in Korean and English, written and spoken.
Candidates with the following additional experience will be highly regarded:
Experience managing multi-million-dollar enterprise sales cycles, negotiating vendor terms, or building TCO models against incumbent platforms such as NetApp, Dell PowerScale, or Vast Data.
Hands-on experience configuring storage backends for GPU-accelerated computing (e.g., NVIDIA DGX clusters) in machine learning, autonomous driving, or HPC environments.
Familiarity with South Korea's Cloud Security Assurance Program (CSAP) and the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) as they apply to data storage, replication, and encryption-at-rest.
Industry depth in one or more of Qumulo's core verticals: media and entertainment, autonomous driving, semiconductor development, or high-performance computing.
Individual pay depends on various factors such as level, relevant experience and skills.
