We're looking for a Survey Manager to guide operations, support strategic development and deliver exceptional service across major rail and infrastructure projects for JWG Survey & Engineering.

This is a key position, responsible for driving performance, nurturing client relationships, and shaping the future direction of a regional division. If you're commercially minded, operationally strong, and passionate about developing people, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Be Doing

As our Survey Manager, you will oversee the delivery of rail monitoring, surveying and engineering projects while supporting the growth of the business. You’ll lead a talented multidisciplinary team and ensure that both operational and commercial targets are met. This role blends team leadership, client engagement and hands-on management of day-to-day operations.

  • Allocate resources effectively and oversee project delivery, ensuring compliance with industry and company standards.
  • Engage with clients to understand requirements, prepare accurate quotations and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Manage departmental financial performance, including P&L, revenue growth and cost control.
  • Report key operational and commercial updates to senior leadership.
  • Support regional growth by identifying opportunities, contributing to tenders and strengthening existing client accounts.
  • Recruit, mentor and develop team members, promoting a collaborative, high-performing culture.
  • Oversee core people management processes, including 1–1s, performance reviews and holiday approvals.
  • Ensure full compliance with health & safety, quality procedures and regulatory requirements.
