Location (EMEA): Remote with monthly Paris office visits (fully reimbursed). We can hire people already based in selected countries only: France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Spain, UK
About the Role
You will own our long-term ML strategy, including training foundational models from scratch, and serve as the primary bridge between ML and Product, Sales, and Engineering teams.
You will lead and scale our exceptional ML team, maintaining culture and excellence while building the industry's most compelling Computer Vision team.
You will drive technical excellence through code review, performance optimisation, and troubleshooting complex training issues, while mentoring ICs through complex technical challenges.
You will drive breakthrough innovation — advancing next-generation capabilities that redefine industry standards and balancing cutting-edge research with rapid product impact.
You will establish visionary technical direction for our ambitious growth phase, building comprehensive evaluation frameworks and creating space for calculated risk-taking alongside rapid shipping excellence.
About the Team
We're a curious, ambitious group with deep ML expertise — people who've trained billion-parameter models, built real-time CV infrastructure, and shipped to millions of users.
Our strengths are lightning-fast iteration, state-of-the-art models, strong collaboration, and proven user impact at massive scale. We're ready for visionary leadership to guide our next breakthrough phase, ambitious foundational model initiatives, enhanced research-to-production processes, and technical mentorship from experienced leadership.
The opportunity: lead breakthrough AI capabilities that will process billions more images and define the future of AI photo editing.
About You
You have 5+ years leading ML/AI teams at product companies, with strategic decision-making experience and a proven hiring and mentorship track record with teams of 8+ people.
You have deep Computer Vision and Diffusion/GenAI expertise, with hands-on experience training large foundational models (billion+ parameters, end-to-end).
You are technically credible enough to spot code issues, debug training failures, analyse performance bottlenecks, and provide opinionated technical guidance to ICs.
You are an empowering, decisive leader — you set context not tasks, make big bets, own outcomes, and encourage bold experiments while learning from failures.
You can work closely and cross-functionally with Product, Sales, and Engineering teams, avoiding unnecessary process and ensuring clear accountability.
Nice to have: Experience establishing research-to-production pipelines and building evaluation frameworks that set new industry standards.
