Role Overview

The HR & Operations is at the heart of keeping StoryCo running smoothly: supporting both people and operations as the team continues to grow. This role owns key HR processes (recruitment, onboarding, payroll, compliance) while ensuring daily operations and logistics are well-managed.

Working across teams, the role not only ensures things run efficiently but also helps identify gaps, improve processes, and build scalable systems for the next stage of growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Human Resources (Core Focus)

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment (job posting, screening, coordination, offers)

  • Support onboarding & offboarding processes

  • Maintain employee records, contracts, and HR documentation

  • Handle probation reviews, confirmations, and employee lifecycle processes

  • Support payroll processing, reimbursements, bonuses, and attendance tracking

  • Coordinate with other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely payments

  • Manage and support HR-related legal and compliance processes, including labor contracts, insurance, personal income tax (PIT), and other statutory requirements

  • Liaise with external partners or authorities when needed (e.g., insurance providers, tax consultants)

  • Act as a point of contact for employee queries and HR-related matters

  • Support performance review cycles and internal communications

  • Contribute to building and maintaining company culture initiatives

2. Operations & Administration

  • Oversee daily office operations and ensure a smooth working environment

  • Coordinate with vendors, building management, and service providers

  • Manage devices, accounts, licenses, equipment, and other operational purchases

  • Track and maintain inventory of company assets (laptops, software, tools, etc.)

  • Manage internal policies, processes, and documentation

  • Support logistics for company activities, events, and team gatherings

  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and local regulations

3. Process Improvement & Scaling

  • Support Managers (Product, Production, Process Improvement) to identify gaps in current workflows and propose improvements

  • Help standardize HR and operational processes as the company grows

  • Support cross-team coordination (especially between production, product, and leadership)

  • Assist in setting up systems/tools to improve efficiency

Job Requirements
  • 2–5+ years of hands-on experience in HR Operations, HR Generalist, or HR & Admin roles

  • Proven experience handling payroll, attendance tracking, and employee lifecycle processes (contracts, onboarding, offboarding)

  • Practical experience supporting insurance, personal income tax (PIT), and basic HR compliance processes in Vietnam

  • Strong understanding of Vietnamese labor regulations and statutory requirements (at least at an operational level)

  • Strong English proficiency (all four skills; equivalent to IELTS 7.5+), with the ability to work directly with international stakeholders.

  • High level of ownership with the ability to manage tasks independently and follow through end-to-end

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Nice-to-have

  • Experience working in a startup or fast-growing environment

  • Experience managing company assets, tools, accounts, and vendor purchasing

  • Exposure to HR systems, ATS, or internal process building

  • Experience working in creative, tech, or production environments

  • Comfortable working across both HR and operational responsibilities

What Will Make You Successful in This Role

  • Ability to balance attention to detail (compliance, payroll, documentation) with speed and adaptability

  • Confidence in handling both people-related matters and operational logistics

  • Proactive mindset in identifying issues and improving processes, rather than waiting for direction
