Role Overview:The Art Editor prepares and adapts web comic artwork for multimedia storytelling by separating panels, editing layers, and making visual adjustments to enhance storytelling. They collaborate closely with the creative team to refine assets, apply light animation, and ensure visual consistency across episodes.
Key Responsibilities:Take raw files from web comics and determine how the full pages should be separated into panels on a vertical/horizontal screen using Photoshop or Clip Studio Paint.
Merge or separate panels into separate layers (backgrounds, characters, speech bubbles, etc.) to make panels more dynamic.
Fix or redraw scenes where required (e.g. changing shape of speech bubbles, filling in gaps behind layers).
Select or create backgrounds for scenes in stories from the artist's existing assets or from scratch.
Add light touch animation/motion graphics to layers or backgrounds using After Effects/Runway.
Possesses a strong visual storytelling instinct, with a strong grasp of how the core tenants of building effective visual frames can enhance a story’s overall quality - Ideally possesses a passion for anime, manga or Webtoons, either as a creator or a fan
Strong proficiency in industry-standard art/photo editing software such as Photoshop, Clip Studio, Adobe Illustrator (experience with video and motion graphic-editing software like Runway and After Effects is a plus)
Experience working with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, and creative)
Strong collaboration and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain high quality in a fast-paced environment
Proactive, self-driven, and open to feedback; able to work independently and take ownership of projects
Employment Type: Full-time in office
Location: On-site with core collaboration based at Hai Ba Trung, Xuan Hoa Ward, Ho Chi Minh City
Working Hours: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday with flexible working hours
