About the role ICEYE is seeking an AIT Engineer to own the assembly, integration, and testing of on-board computer and communications subsystems at our Espoo headquarters. This is a hands-on technical role for an engineer with strong expertise in complex electronics and SDR-based communications systems, ready to contribute directly to spacecraft production and mission-critical troubleshooting in a fast-paced, high-cadence environment.
What you will do
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for all OBC and Comms issues during manufacturing, integration, and testing
Conduct hands-on inspection, verification, and assembly of OBC and Comms subsystems hardware
Identify, contain, and drive root cause analysis of non-conformances; implement corrective actions and close feedback loops into design and production processes
Contribute to OBC and Comms design reviews, production ramp-up planning, and DFM/DFT improvements
Represent AIT Engineering across projects and disciplines, interfacing with design engineers, production leads, and other domain AIT engineers
Apply system-level understanding to anticipate integration risks across subsystem interfaces and ensure mission success
Produce and maintain technical documentation including test procedures, NCRs, and corrective action records
What you bring
Must have
5+ years of hands-on experience in the development, integration, testing, or production of complex electronics and communications systems
Deep technical knowledge of electronics engineering and SDR-based communications systems, with system-level understanding across full hardware architectures
Demonstrated experience in multidisciplinary engineering environments, including mentoring engineers and technicians and driving cross-functional collaboration
Strong track record in DFM and DFT in high-reliability hardware environments
Familiarity with integration, verification, configuration management, and production ramp-up processes in complex hardware industries
Proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving including structured root cause analysis
Continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to drive reliability and repeatability as production volumes scale
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Strong written and spoken English communication skills
Experience writing clear, traceable technical documentation
Nice to have
Experience with issue tracking and configuration management tools
Familiarity with Python or AI-assisted tools for productivity and test automation
Rapid ability to structure and synthesize complex technical information and communicate conclusions clearly
Resilience and sustained motivation in high-pressure production environments
