The Merchant Lending Platform enables embedded lending for merchants across multiple markets, covering onboarding, underwriting, offer generation, repayment, servicing, and partner integrations.
As a Tech Lead, you will lead the design and delivery of backend services for the Merchant Lending platform. You will own architecture decisions, engineering quality, platform reliability, and technical execution across the software delivery lifecycle.
The platform is cloud-native, event-driven, and API-first. It integrates with merchant ecosystems, banking systems, payment providers, risk engines, data platforms, and internal operational systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead architecture and delivery for Merchant Lending services, including onboarding, offers, repayments, servicing, and integrations.
- Design distributed systems, APIs, and event-driven workflows that support multi-country deployment and platform reuse.
- Drive technical decisions on service boundaries, integration patterns, scalability, resilience, observability, and operational readiness.
- Work with Product, Risk, Data, Operations, and Engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and hands-on technical guidance.
- Improve engineering practices across CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, documentation, and incident management.
- Support production operations, incident investigation, and root-cause analysis.
- Maintain architecture documentation, ADRs, API contracts, and operational runbooks.
- Promote practical use of AI tools to improve software delivery, testing, documentation, and engineering productivity.
