The Opportunity
The Director, Business Control, B2B is the dedicated finance partner to the Chief Commercial Officer, B2B, and be part of Finance leadership. The role is based in Singapore, reports to the CFO in Amsterdam, and leads a team of two.
You will own the financial heartbeat of the B2B business — its commercial economics, performance reporting, planning cycles, and the analytical foundation for business decisions. You will also serve as back-up to the Director, Business Control, B2C, supporting that business on an ad hoc basis, which means working fluently across consumer e-commerce as well as B2B fintech.
What you'll do
Business partnering. Sit alongside the CCO B2B as the finance partner for commercial decisions - pricing, take rates, merchant economics, deal structuring, market entry. Translate commercial ambition into financial plans, and financial reality into commercial conversations.
Reporting. Own the budgeting, forecasting, and monthly performance cycles for the B2B unit. Drive the analytical depth behind unit economics (LTV/CAC, contribution margin by solution, cohort behaviour) in a high-volume, low-margin environment where small basis-point movements matter at scale.
M&A and integration. Support deal evaluation, diligence, and the post-close integration of acquired businesses into the B2B operating and reporting framework.
Exit readiness. Build the reporting, controls, and analytical narrative to prepare for future exit or financing rounds.
Team and infrastructure. Lead and develop a lean, high-output team. Keep raising the bar on tooling, data, and process so finance scales with the business rather than constraining it.
What you'll bring
Senior finance leadership in a high-volume, low-margin business - ideally B2B fintech, payments, or adjacent digital commerce.
Demonstrated knowledge in unit economics (LTV/CAC, contribution margin, cohort analysis), and the data infrastructure that supports them.
Hands-on experience integrating acquired businesses into a parent group’s reporting and operating model.
Exposure to an exit process, with an understanding of what that requires of finance well ahead of time.
Strong data management instincts - comfortable in SQL/BI environments, fluent with finance systems, and unwilling to rely on data you can’t audit.
Experience working in a global setting and possessing strong cultural awareness.
How you work
A natural business partner - a great communicator who is credible with commercial leaders
Modelling that holds up under scrutiny: clean, transparent, built for re-use rather than one-time use.
Comfortable in a matrixed organization - multiple stakeholders, multiple geographies, competing priorities — and unfazed by ambiguity.
Able to operate effectively with a manager in a different time zone, with good judgment to know what to escalate and what to decide.
Bias for action and strong drive for excellence: you leave the function in better shape than you found it.
What this role asks of you
- This is a demanding role. The pace is fast, the standard for output is high, and the working day can often reach across Singapore, Amsterdam, and other time zones. Commercial leaders move quickly, M&A windows do not wait, and PE ownership means the cycle of reporting and review is denser than in most listed environments. We are honest about this because it needs to suit you.
