Lead Key Carrier – cabi Outlet

Department: cabi Outlet
Reports To: Store Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

 

Position Summary

The Lead Key Carrier supports and assists the store management team in creating an environment where every customer receives exceptional service and a personalized shopping experience. This role is ideal for a fashion-focused retail professional with strong leadership skills, a passion for customer relationships, and the ability to motivate and support a team.

The Lead Key Carrier plays a key role in daily store operations and is expected to lead with a management mindset. This position carries additional responsibilities beyond a traditional Key Holder role and may oversee store operations in the absence of management.

 

Essential Responsibilities

 

Customer Experience & Sales

  • Support and uphold cabi’s core business values and company creed
  • Deliver a unique customer service and styling experience through strong customer engagement and relationship-building
  • Actively clientele using company programs and processes to increase customer loyalty and engagement
  • Maintain a strong presence on the sales floor as a leader in customer sales, customer service, and hands-on team development
  • Assist with tracking daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs and store goals

 

Team Support & Leadership

  • Promote a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment while upholding all cabi standards and expectations
  • Assist in coaching, developing, and motivating employees
  • Delegate daily tasks and provide leadership support while serving as Manager on Duty when needed
  • Lead by example in customer service, teamwork, professionalism, and accountability
  • Communicate effectively and professionally across all levels of the company

 

Store Operations

  • Assist management with merchandising products in accordance with company presentation guidelines
  • Support inventory management and all aspects of shipment processing
  • Assist with maintaining store organization, cleanliness, supplies, and operational standards
  • Help maintain store and banking records, including cash handling and bank deposits
  • Maintain regular, dependable attendance, including availability for nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Ability to work independently on the sales floor or in the backroom depending on business needs
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervises Sales Associates and Key Holders while serving as Manager on Duty. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with cabi policies and applicable laws.

 

Qualifications

 

Required Experience & Skills

  • Previous retail experience as a Retail Associate, Key Holder, Supervisor, or similar leadership role
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to provide a personalized styling experience
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Ability to handle cash, banking procedures, and store assets with integrity and accuracy
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills

 

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 1–2 years of related retail experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, hear, and use hands/fingers to operate computers and POS systems
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders and step stools as needed

 

Work Environment

  • Retail store environment with moderate noise levels and continuous music throughout the day
  • Moderate to high customer foot traffic depending on business volume
  • Break area and refrigerator available for employee use
  • Availability required for nights, weekends, holidays, and occasional solo coverage based on business needs
