Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned project management professional to oversee complex custom manufacturing projects involving electrical power distribution equipment. This role will be responsible for coordinating all phases of project execution, ensuring customer expectations are met while maintaining project schedules, quality standards, and delivery commitments.

The ideal candidate will serve as a central point of coordination between customers and internal teams, guiding projects from initial requirements through final delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Direct the execution of custom-engineered manufacturing projects from project launch through final delivery and completion.
  • Act as the primary customer contact throughout the project lifecycle, providing updates and addressing project-related concerns.
  • Collaborate with engineering, sales, procurement, production, quality assurance, and logistics teams to support project objectives.
  • Build, maintain, and communicate project schedules, key milestones, and critical deadlines.
  • Evaluate production capacity and material availability to establish achievable delivery commitments.
  • Facilitate project kickoff meetings and monitor progress on assigned action items.
  • Manage scope changes, customer requests, engineering revisions, and schedule adjustments.
  • Coordinate testing activities, project documentation, and shipment preparation.
  • Proactively identify risks, delays, or obstacles and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain project records, performance metrics, delivery tracking, and status reporting.
  • Oversee multiple active projects while balancing customer priorities and business objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of project management experience within manufacturing, industrial equipment, electrical systems, or electromechanical environments.
  • Experience managing custom-built or engineered-to-order products.
  • Strong knowledge of project scheduling, production planning, and material coordination.
  • Ability to review and interpret technical drawings, engineering documentation, and electrical schematics.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, procurement, and quality.
  • Proficiency with ERP platforms and project planning tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar software.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and customer relationship management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting power distribution products, switchgear, power distribution centers (PDCs), remote power panels (RPPs), static transfer switches (STS), UPS systems, or similar equipment.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or progress toward certification.
  • Knowledge of electrical industry standards, including UL, NEC, ANSI, or related requirements.
  • Experience coordinating factory acceptance testing (FAT) and customer witness testing.
  • Background in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
