About Warp

Warp is building self-driving employee management. Payroll, tax compliance across thousands of jurisdictions, benefits, IT, and HRIS that runs autonomously so companies never have to think about back-office operations again.

We process hundreds of millions in payments across 1,000+ companies. Revenue has grown 5x+ YoY for two years. We're a team of ~40 in NYC in Flatiron, scaling fast, and expecting to be 100 people by end of year.

The incumbents (ADP, Paylocity, Paychex) built their businesses by profiting from complexity. Even the modern players are bolting chatbots onto legacy systems. Warp is built from day one for AI to be the primary operator, not a feature. Every advance in LLM capability widens our lead.

We hire people who ship constantly, own outcomes, and care about craft. We're in the office five days a week because speed and proximity are a competitive advantage at this stage. If you want to build something that automates an entire category of core work, not just another point solution, this is the place.

Backed by $25M+ from Ashton Kutcher/Sound Ventures, Y Combinator, founders of Dropbox, Replit, SV Angel, and Homebrew Capital. Built by an obsessive team from MIT, Ramp, Brex, Google, Dropbox, Apple, and more.

About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer focused on Identity & Access at Warp, you'll build foundational authentication and authorization systems, role-based access controls, application provisioning, and cross-platform MDM. You're building the core infrastructure that controls how thousands of companies manage who has access to what, on which devices, from day one of employment to the last. It's high-stakes, and it touches every part of the product.

What You'll Do

  • Build foundational authentication and authorization infrastructure across Warp's entire product

  • Design and implement role-based and attribute-based access control systems

  • Build application provisioning and deprovisioning, automatically granting and revoking access as employees join, change roles, or leave

  • Build cross-platform MDM for macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android

  • Own the protocols that power it all: SAML, SCIM, OIDC, OAuth

  • Work directly with customers to define what automated IT management actually looks like at scale

You'll Be Good for This Role If You

  • Have built authentication or authorization systems. Not just configured them.

  • Understand access control models (RBAC, ABAC) and how to implement them at scale

  • Have experience with cross-platform device management or MDM

  • Have owned identity or access infrastructure at a high-growth startup or enterprise software company

  • Get energized by technically hard problems with serious security implications

What You Need

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience

  • Deep familiarity with identity protocols: SAML, SCIM, OIDC, OAuth

  • Experience building or owning MDM or cross-platform device management

  • Strong systems-level thinking and security-first mindset

  • Experience designing access control systems at scale

  • Willingness to work from our NYC office five days a week

Benefits at Warp:
