We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the analysis, design, integration, and implementation of complex enterprise systems within a mission-focused environment. This role is responsible for leading systems engineering efforts across the full lifecycle, including requirements development, architecture design, integration, testing, risk management, and operational support.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience supporting large-scale systems engineering initiatives involving DoD architectures, service-oriented architectures, systems integration, and technical program leadership.
Responsibilities
- Analyze user requirements, operational concepts, and system architectures to develop system requirements and technical specifications
- Lead systems engineering and integration activities throughout the system lifecycle
- Develop and maintain systems engineering documentation including System Engineering Plans (SEPs), Requirements Specifications, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and integration/test plans
- Support the development of system architectures using DoDAF, SOA, and related enterprise architecture standards
- Perform requirements analysis, functional allocation, and derivation of lower-level system requirements
- Support system integration, interface definition, and cross-functional coordination activities
- Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to design and implement new technical capabilities
- Conduct technical assessments, feasibility studies, and end-to-end system flow analysis
- Develop alternative system concepts, physical architectures, and design solutions
- Manage configuration changes and coordinate action items from CCBs, design reviews, and program reviews
- Support verification and validation activities, including test planning and system certification efforts
- Develop Information Assurance (IA) and security-related requirements, including confidentiality, integrity, authentication, and access control mechanisms
- Conduct quantitative analyses related to system performance, reliability, maintainability, and survivability
- Support DoD Certification & Accreditation (C&A) and Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) processes
- Assess program risks and support risk mitigation planning and execution
- Coordinate system integration activities across multiple technical teams and stakeholders
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams and program stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- Must be fully cleared with a recent MD polygraph
- Must be willing and able to work fully onsite at the location listed in this posting
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
- 14+ years of experience in Systems Engineering supporting programs of similar scope and complexity
- Experience developing and managing system requirements, derived requirements, and system architectures
- Experience with DoDAF, Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), and enterprise systems integration
- Experience developing systems engineering documentation and technical specifications
- Experience supporting system integration, testing, and lifecycle management activities
- Experience with risk management, configuration management, and change control processes
- Experience supporting Information Assurance and security engineering activities
- Experience working with hardware/software integrated systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with technical teams, stakeholders, and senior leadership
