The Finance Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting activities,
ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and supporting month-end and year-end close
processes. This role will collaborate cross-functionally with operations, sales, and leadership
teams to ensure financial accuracy and compliance with all accounting standards.
The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting knowledge, experience in CPG or
e-commerce, and thrives in a fast-paced, growing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded.
Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process invoices, payments, and collections while maintaining positive vendor and customer relationships.
Month-End Close: Support month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals, journal entries, and reconciliations.
Inventory Accounting: Track and reconcile inventory balances, COGS, and adjustments in coordination with warehouse and operations teams.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in preparing and monitoring budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to GAAP standards, tax requirements, and internal control policies.
Audit Support: Prepare documentation and schedules for internal and external audits.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Operations, Sales, and Finance leadership to ensure accurate financial data across systems (ERP, Shopify, Amazon, etc.).
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance reporting accuracy.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
3–5 years of experience in accounting or financial analysis, with a strong preference for experience in CPG, supplements, or e-commerce.
Thorough understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
Proficiency with Sage Intacct.
Familiarity with Shopify, Amazon Seller Central, or inventory management systems is a plus.
Excellent analytical skills and great attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Preferred:
Background in cost accounting or inventory reconciliation.
Experience managing multi-channel revenue streams (DTC, retail, and marketplace).
Familiarity with Excel for financial modeling and KPI tracking dashboards.
