About The Role
The divisional controller will be located in New York and will lead the Americas accounting and global revenue functions of the company. The role will be responsible for overseeing the Americas general ledger team and revenue controller. This includes the day-to-day accounting, month end close activities, consolidated management and financial reporting, financial statement audit, including ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting standards. This role is key to providing accurate and timely financial information used to support both internal decision making and external reporting compliance. The role will be highly visible within the company’s various departments including finance and executive leadership. The ideal candidate will have foundational accounting knowledge as well as the ability and willingness to engage in complex analyses, and aspirations to further develop a career in accounting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the assistant controller and general ledger accountants for the Americas.
- Lead the monthly close and financial statement consolidation process, including running weekly recurring meetings with members of the Accounting team, reviewing journal entries, and review of financial reporting packages.
- Oversee and manage the global revenue controller.
- Responsible for presenting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results and KPIs to the CFO and the senior leadership team.
- Assist in the preparation/review technical accounting memos for new and existing accounting standards. Including amending/maintaining current accounting policies.
- In charge of the annual external financial statement audit, including preparation of audit workpapers, disclosures, delegating support gathering with the Accounting team, and recurring communications with the Company’s auditors.
- Design, implement, improve, and monitor effective internal controls around the close process and financial reporting.
- Develop, train, and mentor the team.
- Be involved in continuous improvement and enhancements of accounting systems and processes.
- Involvement in other ad-hoc continuous improvement projects of the global accounting and finance organization.
Required
The successful candidate will have the following skills and attributes:
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a similar accounting role
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or accounting degree (ACCA/ACA/similar)
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Experience in revenue accounting with exposure to US accounting standard ASC 606, knowledge of software license and subscription services preferred
- Experience in lease accounting and has had exposure to US accounting standard ASC 842
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong Excel skills and experience
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Detail-oriented, organized with a ‘right first time’ approach to work
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work closely with the Global Controller and the global accounting team members located in both Dublin and New York
- Ability and willingness to proactively take lead of the role and responsibilities in a growing company and meet critical business deadlines

Working Arrangements
This is a Hybrid position with [weekly time in the office with the flexibility of working from home. Though travel may be required from time to time, it is not expected to be regular or frequent. The role holder will be expected to work whatever hours are necessary for the performance of this role (recognizing that it involves multiple jurisdictions/geographies including but not limited to EMEA, USA and APAC).
