As we expand into the Australian market, we are seeking talented professionals to help us build and grow our APAC operations, bringing the same exceptional client experience that has defined our success globally.

Role Overview

This is an exciting, newly created opportunity for an experienced derivatives professional to join Trading 212's Australian operations at the ground level. As Derivatives Analyst, you will serve as a subject-matter expert across both exchange-traded options and over-the-counter derivatives with a particular focus on Contracts for Difference (CFDs). You will work directly with clients to support their trading activity, oversee trade and position monitoring, produce regulatory and management reporting, and contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of the Australian business.

What You'll Do

Client Support & Advisory

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients with queries relating to their CFD trades, open positions, margin requirements, and account activity

  • Provide clear, accurate, and timely responses to client enquiries regarding product mechanics, pricing, and risk

  • Assist clients in understanding their derivative exposures, including leverage, mark-to-market movements, and settlement

  • Liaise with internal teams including Compliance, Risk, and Technology to resolve complex client issues efficiently

Trade & Position Monitoring

  • Monitor live client CFD positions and exchange-traded options activity across all markets and asset classes

  • Identify and escalate unusual position activity, margin breaches, or risk concentrations in a timely manner

  • Support the daily reconciliation of client positions against internal systems and external counterparty records

  • Assist with the management of corporate actions, rollovers, and adjustments affecting open derivative positions

Reporting

  • Prepare and deliver accurate daily, weekly, and monthly position and exposure reports for internal management and regulatory purposes

  • Contribute to regulatory reporting obligations under ASIC requirements, including EMIR-equivalent trade reporting where applicable

  • Maintain and improve existing reporting templates and dashboards to enhance operational visibility

Business Development & Operations

  • Identify opportunities to improve operational processes, reduce manual workflows, and enhance the client experience

  • Support the build-out of Trading 212's Australian derivatives offering, including product scoping, process design, and system configuration

  • Collaborate with global teams to ensure Australian operations align with group-wide risk frameworks, technology platforms, and best practices

  • Contribute to the development of client-facing educational content and materials relating to derivative products

Liquidity & Treasury Management

  • Monitor liquidity, funding levels, and margin utilisation across Trading 212 Australia's derivatives operations, ensuring sufficient funding is maintained to support trading activity and operational requirements.

  • Liaise with UK Treasury, Risk, and Operations teams to manage funding requirements, internal liquidity facilities, and margin obligations

  • Identify and escalate liquidity risks or funding shortfalls, coordinating funding movements and producing regular treasury and liquidity reporting for management.

What You'll Need

Essential

  • 3–5 years of experience in a derivatives-focused role at a brokerage firm, investment bank, or similar financial institution

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, Economics, Accounting, Commerce, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline

  • Demonstrable expertise in Contracts for Difference (CFDs), including product mechanics, client margining, and risk management

  • Solid working knowledge of exchange-traded options across equities, indices, commodities, and/or FX

  • Experience in trade and position monitoring, with a strong understanding of real-time risk management processes

  • Proven ability to communicate complex derivative concepts clearly and professionally to retail or institutional clients

  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and/or reporting tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, or similar)

  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced trading environment

Preferred

  • Familiarity with ASIC regulatory requirements relating to derivatives, including the AFSL framework and relevant product disclosure obligations

  • Previous experience in a start-up, scale-up, or greenfield market-entry environment

  • RG146 accreditation in Derivatives (or equivalent) is advantageous
