About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Investor Relations sales professional to drive business development and client acquisition across Canada. This role focuses on selling Investor Relations (IR) programs and shareholder communication services to Canadian small-cap public companies and crowdfunding-funded businesses.
The ideal candidate has an established network within the Canadian capital markets ecosystem, understands the challenges faced by emerging public companies, and has a proven track record of developing relationships with executives, investor relations professionals, and capital markets participants.
This is a relationship-driven role requiring regular client meetings, conference attendance, networking, and proactive business development throughout Canada.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, prospect, and acquire new clients among Canadian small-cap public companies and crowdfunding-funded businesses.
- Sell Investor Relations programs, shareholder engagement services, and related capital markets solutions.
- Leverage existing relationships and industry contacts to generate qualified opportunities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with:
- CEOs
- CFOs
- Investor Relations Officers
- Board members
- Capital markets professionals
- Conduct client meetings both virtually and in person.
- Travel regularly to meet prospects and clients across Canada.
- Attend industry conferences, investor events, and capital markets gatherings to generate leads and build relationships.
- Represent the company within the Canadian investment and small-cap ecosystem.
- Build and manage a robust sales pipeline from initial contact through contract execution.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop proposals and client solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, opportunities, and client interactions.
Requirements
- Based in Canada.
- 5+ years of experience in Investor Relations, capital markets, small-cap advisory, corporate access, financial communications, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of the Canadian small-cap and venture capital markets.
- Existing network of Canadian public company executives and investor relations contacts.
- Demonstrated experience selling services to publicly traded companies or capital markets participants.
- Proven ability to generate leads through networking, conferences, and relationship-based sales.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Self-starter capable of working independently and managing a national territory.
- Willingness to travel extensively within Canada.
