About Bespoke Labs

Bespoke Labs is an applied AI research lab pioneering data and RL environment curation for training and evaluating agents.

Recently, we curated Open Thoughts, one of the best open reasoning datasets used by multiple frontier labs, trained SOTA specialized models such as Bespoke-MiniChart-7B and Bespoke-MiniCheck, and taught agents to do multi-turn tool-calling with reinforcement learning.

We are also core contributors to Terminal-bench, a leading benchmark for agents used by most frontier labs. Bespoke Labs creates RL environments for frontier labs and specialized agents for enterprises.

The Role

As an Engagement Manager, you are the primary owner of customer relationships for some of the most consequential AI labs and enterprises in the world. You drive engagements end-to-end, from kickoff through delivery, and you make sure that what Bespoke ships meets the bar our customers expect.

Internally, you represent the customer: translating their objectives into the language our research, engineering, and data operations teams use to build environments and run training and evaluation jobs. Externally, you are the face of Bespoke, the person who turns a first project into a long-term partnership.

This role is execution-focused. You will manage multiple concurrent engagements, each with technical depth and tight delivery windows. Precision across tracking, documentation, quality alignment, and customer follow-through is what makes customers successful and earns us the next project.

What you'll do

Own end-to-end execution of customer engagements across frontier labs and enterprise accounts.

Be the customer's voice inside Bespoke. Translate technical requirements between customer ML/research teams and our internal engineering, research, and data operations teams.

Manage delivery rigor. Track scope, timelines, SLAs, budget, and quality across multiple concurrent projects. Surface risks early with proposed solutions.

Drive growth within accounts. Identify expansion opportunities, scope follow-on projects, and shape proposals alongside our research and product leadership.

Improve how we deliver. Partner with data operations and engineering to refine playbooks, tooling, and processes that compound across customers as we scale.

Build trust that earns the next project. Make customers passionate, long-term partners through precision, responsiveness, and craft.

Who you are

• 1+ years as Engagement Manager at a fast growth data startup.

• 3–6 years of experience in customer engineering, forward-deployed engineering, project leadership at a high-growth company, or technical program management.

• A technical foundation, for example, a degree or working experience in CS, engineering, math, or another STEM field. You don't need to write production code, but you can read technical specs, ask sharp questions, and hold your own in a conversation with an ML researcher.

• A demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams with precision. You are the person on your current team who never drops a thread.

• B2B client-facing experience where execution and delivery were the core of the job, not just account management.

• An action-oriented, scrappy disposition, with a get-things-done attitude.

• Strong written communication.

Bonus points for

• Familiarity with modern AI training and evaluation workflows such as RL, post-training, agent evaluation, data labeling at scale.

• Experience working with research or ML engineering teams as a customer or partner.

• Time in an early-stage or high-growth environment where you wore multiple hats and built process from scratch.

• Experience selling into or delivering for technical buyers: ML platform teams, applied research teams, or AI product orgs.

This role is based out of our Mountain View office with a hybrid schedule.
