The Role
The GL Accountant will be a key member of the EMEA finance team reporting to the EMEA Accounting Manager. Based in Budapest, Hungary, our rapidly expanding global Finance organization supports the accounting, payroll, and daily operations for over 1,800 employees across 22 European countries.
In this role, you will be pivotal in all aspects of daily accounting activities, drive cross-functional projects, and leverage your experience to enact innovation within the group. This position plays a crucial part in the monthly and quarterly financial close processes, ensures strict compliance with accounting standards, and contributes to the success of internal customers.
What You'll Do
- Drive the monthly and quarterly close processes for multiple EMEA entities
- Manage daily accounting activities (Payroll, Cash accounting, Fixed Asset Management, Lease accounting, Intercompany, Accruals)
- Execute comprehensive Balance Sheet reconciliations and ensure compliance with SOX policies
- Collaborate with external accounting service providers
- Design and execute scalable efficiency solutions and actively participate in projects
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
- 2+ years of progressive accounting experience in an MNC and/or public accounting, with a strong focus on GL
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to reflect on and understand the big picture
- Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-growing environment; strong multi-tasking skills, with the flexibility to switch projects quickly
Nice to Have
- Experience with NetSuite and/or Blackline is an advantage
- Familiarity with US GAAP
- Experience working in a publicly traded, high-tech, high-growth company
Compensation
- Total compensation: 8,000,000 - 12,000,000 HUF
- The total compensation range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential total compensation range for this role. Please note that actual total compensation may vary within the range above or below, depending on experience and location. We look at compensation for each individual and base our offer on your unique qualifications, experience, and expected contributions. This position's total compensation may be composed of other types of compensation, such as variable bonus and/or stock bonus.
