In a world facing increasing pressure through climate change, global food shortages and public health crises, the Novo Nordisk Foundation is continuously seeking to increase its impact in line with the purpose to improve people’s health and the sustainability of society and the planet.
The Job
As Legal Counsel you will be the first point of contact in providing high-quality legal advice to enable the organisation to fulfil its purpose. We are searching for a lawyer who will see solutions from a pragmatic legal perspective and who is a good team player. The tasks will include:
- Daily legal advice to the organisation and our larger initiatives as a dedicated legal partner. You will translate complex legal matters into long-term sustainable solutions.
- Reviewing, negotiating, and drafting contracts, grant agreements and NDAs.
- Close and proactive collaboration both within the Novo Nordisk Foundation and within the Legal team with colleagues specialised in IP and Compliance.
- Assistance in preparation of material to the Board of Directors and Management.
- Ad hoc legal projects to optimise internal legal processes.

Professional and personal Qualifications
We are looking for a Legal Counsel with 3-5 years’ relevant professional legal experience.
We expect that you have:
- A Master of Laws (LL.M) or cand.merc.jur.
- Broad corporate law background – experience with foundation law, corporate foundations, company law and governance will be a plus.
- Experience with writing commercial contracts, reviewing, interpreting, and translating legal matters.
- Flair for IT tools and confidence presenting to senior stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and legal drafting skills in English.
- Great abilities to interact and communicate with various stakeholders at all levels.
