Position Summary

We are seeking skilled Manufacturing Equipment Mechanics to support production and packaging operations within a regulated environment. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment used in the manufacturing and packaging of pharmaceutical products.

The position involves hands-on mechanical work, preventive maintenance, equipment setup, and continuous improvement of maintenance processes. Candidates should be comfortable working across multiple types of equipment and contributing to a team-focused production environment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot manufacturing and packaging equipment to ensure consistent performance
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance, equipment setup, and changeovers
  • Execute equipment cleaning and assist in maintaining operational readiness
  • Apply advanced mechanical skills to support multiple production lines
  • Adjust, replace, and install machine components as needed for repairs or product changeovers
  • Conduct major equipment overhauls and ensure machines meet production standards
  • Record maintenance activities, lubrication, and repairs in logbooks per preventive maintenance programs
  • Assist machine operators in maintaining production efficiency and quality standards
  • Support troubleshooting efforts and guide less experienced mechanics when needed
  • Participate in training programs and assist with onboarding new team members
  • Communicate incidents, near misses, or hazards to leadership promptly
  • Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout protocols
  • Ensure proper function of guards, interlocks, and other safety mechanisms
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace aligned with 5S standards
  • Adhere to all regulatory and quality standards, including cGMP requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support daily plant operations
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support production continuity

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 2 years of mechanical experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification within 6 months
  • Basic math and reading comprehension skills
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to visually verify process steps
  • Good hand-eye coordination
  • Basic computer navigation skills (assessment required)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and handle materials up to 100 lbs using appropriate equipment

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Exposure to raw materials, including pharmaceutical active ingredients (PAIs)
  • Use of personal protective equipment (e.g., gloves, safety shoes, goggles, respirators) as required
  • Work may involve wet floors, steam, high-temperature water, and handling of chemicals such as flammable or caustic substances
  • Must be flexible to work off-shifts, overtime, and additional hours as needed
  • Availability for 2nd or 3rd shift required
