The role:
EnerMech is seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters to join our team in Gladstone. This is a contract position suited to a motivated tradesperson who takes pride in their workmanship and thrives in a dynamic, team-focused environment.
You will carry out and lead fitting, welding, assembly, and installation works both on project sites and within our workshop. This role requires a proactive approach to safety, quality, and communication while working closely with workshop and project managers, trades personnel, and QHSE representatives.
- Perform general fitting, machining, and fabrication work (site & workshop).
- Carry out on-site removal and installation of mechanical components.
- Execute general shutdown mechanical duties and maintenance on fixed plant equipment.
- Conduct flange management and mechanical assembly work.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Supervise and mentor Trade Assistants and Apprentices when required.
- Support implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Participate regularly in safety and toolbox meetings.
Requirements
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Swagelok and tubing experience highly regarded.
- 5 years experience with hydraulic and water pumps, including hose replacement and servicing.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proven ability to maintain high standards of safety and quality.
- Experience in shutdowns or fixed plant maintenance advantageous.
- Previous supervisory experience advantageous

- Certificate III in Mechanical Trade (essential)
- White Card (essential)
- Confined Space (essential)
- Conduct Gas Test Atmospheres (essential)
- Working at Heights (preferred)
- Pass 3 Site Medical
