We are now pleased to announce that we are currently seeking an experienced EHS Campus Lead to join our team on a major Data Centre project. Reporting to the Project Director, this senior role will take full ownership of the project’s Environmental, Health & Safety strategy, ensuring all works are delivered in full compliance with Winthrop’s Safety Management System, statutory legislation, and industry best practice.

Responsibilities:

  •  Lead the overall EHS strategy for the project, ensuring alignment with Winthrop’s corporate Safety Management System.
  • Provide senior leadership and direction to the EHS team, including EHS Managers, Advisors, and subcontractor safety personnel.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Construction Stage Health & Safety Plans.
  • Review and approve high‑risk method statements, RAMS, SPAs, and permit‑to‑work systems, ensuring robust controls are in place.
  • Drive proactive risk management, identifying emerging risks early and implementing mitigation strategies across all work fronts.
  • Lead senior-level incident and accident investigations, ensuring root‑cause analysis, corrective actions, and organisational learning.
  • Present EHS performance, trends, and strategic updates to senior management, clients, and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure subcontractor EHS performance is rigorously monitored, audited, and aligned with project and corporate standards.
  • Champion a strong safety culture, promoting behavioural safety, engagement, and continuous improvement across the project. Oversee statutory inspections, compliance audits, and regulatory interactions, ensuring full adherence to Irish and EU legislation.
  • Manage EHS training and competency programmes, ensuring all site personnel meet required standards.
  • Ensure adequate EHS resources, PPE, and systems are in place to support safe project delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with Construction, QA/QC, Commissioning, and Client teams to ensure EHS is embedded in all project phases.
  • Provide strategic guidance on environmental management, sustainability initiatives, and regulatory compliance.
