Based in New York, the Junior Litigation Paralegal will be responsible for supporting legal teams in all phases of case management while also helping design, test, and implement AI-enabled workflows and tools for the Firm’s legal operations. This hybrid position offers an exciting opportunity to be at the intersection of legal support and emerging legal technology.

This role reports to the Associate Director of Paralegal Services and the Manager, Paralegal Services, with additional collaboration with the Firm’s AI Institute and knowledge management teams.

Responsibilities include: 

Legal Support
•    Perform various day-to-day case management tasks.
•    Draft and prepare court filings.
•    Assist with calendaring case deadlines.
•    Assist with document collection, organization, review, and productions.
•    Assist with discovery requests, deposition preparation, and trial readiness.
•    Cite-check references and/or caselaw in briefs.
•    Assemble exhibits for court filings and proofread briefs and discovery documents.
•    Prepare charts, indices, and document summaries.
•    Coordinate with external vendors.
•    Ability to travel and attend trials or arbitrations as needed.

AI & Innovation Support
•    Design prompt engineering solutions for legal and business functions to ensure high-quality, consistent AI outputs.
•    Create synthetic datasets using AI tools for testing, training, and proof-of-concept projects.
•    Develop training materials and user guides for AI solutions designed for attorneys and staff.
•    Collaborate with attorneys, knowledge managers, and technologists to identify and implement AI-driven improvements to litigation workflows.
•    Contribute to the Gibson Dunn AI Institute’s training and innovation initiatives, including workflow design, pilot projects, and best practice documentation.

Qualifications:
•    Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
•    Flexible and able to multi-task, balancing priorities and tight deadlines.
•    Proactive and comfortable managing multiple projects across legal and technology teams.
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•    Strong analytical and reasoning abilities.
•    Demonstrated interest or experience in AI tools, data handling, or legal technology preferred.
•    Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple offices.
•    Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Experience:
•    Bachelor’s degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and substantive paralegal experience. Candidate must meet any applicable state requirements                 governing the performance of paralegal duties, including any required certifications or qualifications.
•    Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe.
•    Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, or similar) or legal technology platforms is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits:

The annual compensation range for this position is $62 - 70k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
