About the role...
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior IT Operations & Deployment Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will work in a multinational environment on a multitude of tasks supporting our business in implementing and developing solutions for large EU and international institutions and private sector companies in Greece and abroad.
What you will do...
- Assemble and configure IT system components, ensuring compatibility, stability, and alignment with architectural standards;
- Deploy systems across testing, pre-production, and production environments, including contributing to deployment automation and release coordination;
- Monitor system performance and Alerting, performing routine administration, alerting configuration and fine-tuning in (e.g. Grafana, ELK stack, Dynatrace, Splunk) ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of IT Systems;
- Troubleshooting and resolving production incidents at the 2nd level within the agreed SLAs;
- Manage core infrastructure elements such as servers, databases, storage, and networking components;
- Support CI/CD processes, maintaining pipelines and integrating version control systems to streamline continuous delivery;
- Maintain accurate documentation for deployments, configurations, and operational procedures, supporting knowledge transfer and compliance;
- Contribute to Release and Capacity planning, ensuring deployments align with organisational timelines and quality expectations and perform capacity planning to ensure that systems can handle current and future workloads.
Technical Skills required...
- BSc's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or any other relevant field;
- Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience with automation, scripting, and deployment tools;
- Minimum 8 years of experience with Linux/Unix systems, scripting, container orchestration and system administration (monitoring, tuning, troubleshooting);
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices to streamline deployments and automate recovery processes;
- Experience in the operation and optimisation of middleware and integration technologies, including API gateways, messaging, event-streaming and data-transformation;
- Experience in industry-standard development frameworks and tools such as Spring, Spring Boot, JPA, Junit, JavaEE, Docker, Kubernetes and SQL scripting;
- Experience in domain configuration, JDBC tuning, clustering, and troubleshooting;
- Experience in Database administration and monitoring, including Oracle DB;
- Experience in cloud environments such as Azure AWS will be considered a plus;
- Fluent in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
