Job Purpose

Are you a passionate care professional ready to take the next step in your leadership journey? Do you want a rewarding role where you can inspire a team, support vulnerable adults, and truly make a lasting difference every day?

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Care Team Leader to join our residential mental health service, Laughton Croft. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, person-centred environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality care and support to adults with mental health needs.

As a Team Leader, you will play a key role in supporting the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager with the day-to-day running of the service. You’ll lead shifts, mentor staff, oversee care delivery, and help create a safe, empowering, and recovery-focused environment where residents can thrive.

This is more than just a leadership role, it’s an opportunity to positively impact lives, champion best practice, and help individuals achieve greater independence, confidence, and wellbeing.

What You’ll Be Doing

Leadership & Shift Coordination

  • Lead and motivate care staff to deliver exceptional, person-centred support
  • Act as the senior member of staff on shift, providing guidance and direction
  • Ensure the smooth and effective running of the service day-to-day
  • Promote a safe, supportive, and positive living environment for residents
  • Respond confidently to incidents, safeguarding concerns, and emergencies

Care Planning & Resident Support

  • Develop and maintain detailed, person-centred care plans tailored to individual needs
  • Complete and review risk assessments and mental capacity assessments
  • Create personalised Safety Plans, Life Plans, and “All About Me” profiles
  • Support residents with daily living, emotional wellbeing, independence, and recovery goals
  • Build meaningful relationships with residents and encourage positive outcomes

Team Development & Communication

  • Support, supervise, and mentor care staff to help them grow and succeed
  • Lead handovers and team meetings to ensure excellent communication across shifts
  • Work collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies
  • Promote a positive team culture built on respect, compassion, and accountability

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure all care records and documentation are accurate, up to date, and compliant
  • Support audits, inspections, and quality monitoring within the service
  • Champion safeguarding, best practice, and high standards of mental health care
  • Ensure all staff follow policies, procedures, and recovery-focused approaches
