We are seeking an experienced Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead the technology strategy, IT governance, cybersecurity, and digital transformation initiatives for our Swedish legal entity.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys combining strategic leadership with hands-on execution in an ambitious growth company

You will build and lead the IT, security and operational resilience function of a growing regulated fintech company. As  CIO you will also play a key role in ensuring compliance with Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority (Finansinspektionen) regulations, DORA requirements, GDPR, EBA ICT guidelines, and other relevant Swedish and EU legislation.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical leadership with a deep understanding of regulatory requirements in the financial services sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish, lead and scale high-performing IT and security teams.
  • Define and execute the company’s IT and technology strategy aligned with business objectives and regulatory expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with Finansinspektionen regulations, DORA, GDPR, EBA Guidelines on ICT and security risk management, and Swedish cybersecurity requirements.
  • Lead IT governance, information security, infrastructure, and software development functions as they grow
  • Own IT budgeting, procurement, cost optimization and technology investment planning.
  • Oversee cybersecurity strategy, incident management, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
  • Ensure strong controls around outsourcing, cloud services, and third-party vendor management.
  • Manage IT audits, regulatory inspections, and remediation activities.
  • Drive digital transformation and technology modernization initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Compliance, Risk, Legal, and Operations teams to maintain a secure and compliant technology environment.
  • Develop and maintain data governance and information security frameworks.
  • Build and operate foundational IT processes, tooling and controls 
  • Select, negotiate and manage relationships with IT vendors, cloud providers and software partners.
  • Initially run day-to-day IT operations including end-user support, device management, SaaS administration and workplace IT.
